Product description

Review

Whatever level of education you are in, whatever subjects you are studying, if you follow Lucy's steps and implement her methods it will totally alter your way of thinking and attitude towards work, but not least your grades and academic success. My grades are proof; I got a sheet of paper last August telling me I had achieved 10 A*s and 2 As in my GCSEs. --Laura-Jane Baxter, A Level student

Before I read The Ten Step Guide to Acing Every Exam You Ever Take I had virtually no idea how to revise or study for myself given that I was mostly spoon-fed material at GCSE and did virtually no revision for my GCSE exams. The book pointed out how vital organisation is to success, and as a result inspired me to purchase organisation materials, such as calendars and planners, which I use frequently and have seen results with. It also showed me many ways I could revise and study successfully, most of which I had never thought of before. It also helped me prepare for A-level as it mentioned making sure to work from day 1. Doing so has allowed me to see how much better and faster I understand things, rather than learning later from botched notes during revision time. My favourite thing was the 40 revision methods, as they helped me figure out how I could go about independent study and revision. Thank you for the help you are providing to students. I know that I in particular would be lost without the organisation tips and revision tips provided in your book. --Paige, A Level Student

Before I read The Ten Step Guide to Acing Every Exam You Ever Take I was finding it difficult to know where to start. It gave me ideas of new ways to study rather than just sitting down and reading from a textbook. It helped me to plan out my revision and life using the revision timetables and the sample copy. It helped me to manage what I need to improve on (I found the strengths and weaknesses table very useful!). My favourite thing would be the different ideas and resources. --Molly, GCSE student

About the Author

Lucy Parsons is a Cambridge graduate, qualified teacher, straight-A student and former A-Level examiner who has a passion for helping 15-18 year olds reach their academic potential. She started her business because I can reach more young people through the internet than by standing in a classroom. She knows how it feels to have a big ambition but no clear idea how to achieve it. (She decided she wanted to go to Cambridge at the age of 9 - but her school didn't send people to Cambridge and didn't give pupils a clear idea of how to get the top grades). So she worked it all out for herself, and in so doing, created a system for getting the top grades and into the best universities that works every time. She loves working with students like you because she gets to help you to fulfil your dreams, see your confidence grow and your potential blossom. Her system will help you put in place the organisational and motivational tools to achieve your very best in exams, without resorting to expensive tutoring. It will build your confidence in yourself and your abilities to manage your time and solve study problems for yourself. It will also help you carve out the time to spend on the essential to-do list you need to get through to get into a good (or even world-class) university.

I'm a Year 12 (Lower 6th) student study for my AS'. My grades at GSCE were alright but I struggled a lot with revision. This book has helped me review my mindset and motivations. It's given me confidence and a useful new perspective. It gives great advise that's flexible to suit your needs and the author is also very help full and links her point stop blog post and videos she does. It also comes with a great FREE workbook, the book it's make you realise things, whilst the workbook makes it real and individual to you. It's these questions and workbook that make it more useful than other books like. It's not just black and white and is really broken down making it easy to read and has great chapter summaries which help understanding the most important things. It also doesn't do specific time to start revising but work from now which is much for positive and inspiring. Really recommend it for GCSE, A level and beyond. The principles can be applied to any exams or learning. Very glad I got it and really really recommend it.

This is an excellent and positive guide to steer you through the minefield of revision and exams. It sets out easy to follow ways of preparing yourself for your exams and helps relieve a lot of the stress associated with them. It's never too late to start revising and Lucy talks you through many different methods so you can find the ways that suit you best.

The Ten Step Guide To Acing Every Exam You Ever Take is a very motivational read which should take away much of the panic and stress of exams if you follow the advice given.

I used many of Lucy's suggestions to help my son with his GCSE preparation last year and have recommended this book to a friend whose son is struggling to get motivated with his AS Level revision.

As an older parent my exams were so long ago I'd forgotten how I revised and felt ill equipped to support my daughter studying for GCSE's. This book is a little gem full of practical information and methods. It is well laid out, easy and quick to read and not overwhelming. It's like having a big sister help you (rather than a parent nagging!) It shows there is no magic wand solution to passing exams, but by implementing the steps results can be achieved. It's an empowering read.
