I do agree with the other reviewers - just ditch the free pedometer and invest in a good one - I still prefer the pedometers that you either wear on your pants / belt or the new pocket pedometers ( I have the Brilliant G-Sensor 3D sensor Pocket Pedometer ) as I feel they are more accurate than the ones you wear on your wrist .
This is the only diet book that I recommend to friends and family wholeheartedly even after 10 years .
The authors give many painless ways to increase your step count without taking any additional time from your already hectic day.
I also like the way the program is structured so that changes are gradual and easy to fit into your routine. You're not trying to overhaul your whole life at once. The steps are simple and doable.
The pedometer that accompanies the book is cheap and badly made. Spend a few more dollars and invest in an Omron HJ-112 Digital Pocket Pedometer and follow this program. Your health and waistline will thank you for it.
Since I got this book in 2013, I have now lost almost 30 pounds. I have also learned to change my eating habits, however I was not able to walk for a few weeks and even though I had changed my eating habits, I put a couple of pounds back on. It has become clear to me, that walking those 10,000 steps a day is really important to your health. I have a friend who has diabetes and she was walking with me, and was losing weight, until she started having some problems with her hip. Her physician was getting ready to put her on insulin, however. while walking, her glucose level dropped a lot and he didn't have to. Now, that she isn't walking, she has put all of her weight back on, and her sugar is way up. I am certainly glad that I purchased this book and hope that others will just start walking. IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIFE!
