Everything worked well but to be expected the audio quality is lacking with those tiny speakers. My initial plan was to connect this to my onkyo 5.1 sound system for better sound but to my surprise it just amplified the poor quality like the record player just couldn't play those frequencies, not to mention the in built speakers still play when external speakers are connected.
I plugged a subwoofer in that helped add that needed bass but a lot of the mid tones were still missing. The headphone port is just as bad so the audio is still as bad as the in built speakers and the in built speakers still play but quietly so there is no silent experience if you need to be quiet with the player at times.
I have ended up returning it and a friend of mine has recommended the GPO record player which is priced the same is not cheaper. Which is said to have good aux out audio quality!
If, like me, the record player would be connected to a home cinema system, it has to be connected using the headphone jack (to stop sound coming from the built in speakers. This output is from the front of the device and cabling can look a tad unsightly.
