About the Author

Chelsea Camaron is a USA Today bestselling author who was born and raised in coastal North Carolina. She currently resides in southern Louisiana with her husband and two children, but her heart is forever Carolina day dreaming. Chelsea always wanted to be a writer, but like most of us, let fear of the unknown grab ahold of her dream. Finally, she realized that, if she was going to tell her daughter to go for her dreams, it was time to follow her own advice. When she’s not spending her days writ-ing, you can find her playing with her kids, attending car shows, going on motorcycle rides on the back of her husband’s Harley, snuggling down with her new favorite book, or watching any movie that Vin Diesel might hap-pen to be in.

I just felt like the story missed it's mark. I never really believed in the relationships and the whole story felt like a sanitised version of what it should be. Fallyn never lost herself in Angelina and that felt contrived and even by the end I didn't feel like I even knew who Giancarlo was thus the twist never had any impact for me because I never felt his anguish. Two stars because it was written well enough but it felt to me as if the author was afraid to go to all the dark places that I was expecting.

HASH(0x93ab7cf0) out of 5 stars Sandra's View "Hated the End" 19 Sept. 2015
By Sandra - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
The book had 1865 locations on my kindle. The book was about a young girl, named Fallyn "Aka Angelina" Aka" Angel and a man, named Giano. Fallyn was 10 year old girl, who was being, raised by a sexually abusive father and a neglectful mother. Giano was a sweet, caring and thoughtful contract killer. He decides to keep Fallyn, whom he calls Angel after the death of her parents. The book contained a couple of murders, and 1 decent sex scene near the end. I liked the Angel character. She was curious, confused, grateful, and traumatized, by her past. I loved the Giano character. He was generous, concerned, compassionate and willing to give, Angel, anything to make her happy. He was not nor did he become a child molester. I was totally blind sided by the ending. I was shocked and disappointed by what occurred, during the last few pages,

SPOILER ALERT:
There are 2 alternate endings, but there is NO happy ending, for Giano and Angel. I repeat Angel and Giano DO not end up together, at the end of this book.

HASH(0x9451703c) out of 5 stars Very dark.. 12 Sept. 2015
By Cindy O - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I applaud authors who want to step out of their normal writing box and write something that's shocking, dark and very taboo. But there is also a risk of either the subject matter or story being a little out of the comfort zone of the reader.

The author wastes no time in introducing the shocking and taboo parts of the book in the first chapter. If you can stomach the first chapter the rest until the end isn't so bad. One thing I am not a fan of putting a character through hell giving them a tiny glimpse of normal and then yanking it from them again at the end for reasons that really dont make sense.

Something I had not seen before was the author gave us two epilogues so you can decide how you wanted it to end. I got how the heroine could go either way but after reading the book I was left very unsatisfied with all the outcomes. For me where it went wrong was the last chapter before the epilogues.

HASH(0x94515f24) out of 5 stars Reviews from the Heart Review 14 Sept. 2015
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I find it necessary to start off with the

warning that this book is not for the faint of heart or for anyone who is easily offended. That having

been said, this is an extremely well written look into the dark side of human nature and the price

required to indulge in that dark side. This story is about a young girl named Fallyn who is being sexually

abused by her father and her escape from that painful life at the hands of a dark stranger. Fallyn was

given the choice to assume the identity of the dark stranger’s recently deceased daughter Angelina in

order to have an entirely new life and she does just this. It was extremely difficult for me to read Fallyn’s

story, especially the parts where her father touches her. It was also not easy to read about these difficult

and almost surreal decisions that she was continuously forced to make in order to survive and it truly

broke my heart to read about all of these terrible things happening to her. In my opinion, no child

should ever be placed in horrible situations like this, especially by the very people who are supposed to

be protecting them and keeping them safe. In reality however, this is not always the case and horrible

things like this happen each and every day. Setting my own personal hesitations in reading this type of

material aside, the author handles writing about this subject matter with incredible skill and finesse. I

freely admit that there were several points throughout this story where I had to stop and take a break

because the material became almost too overwhelming and dark in nature and I did not want to

continue at the time. I am extremely happy that I pushed past my own reservations and forced myself to

read this story to its completion since the story as a whole is a beautiful message of self-love and hope

even in the darkest of times. This story cannot be taken at face value as simply a dark romance, or the

most intensely beautiful and moving points will be easily overlooked. Fallyn’s journey is not full of

happiness and great times, but instead is a story of a girl who is handed a horrible life and does

whatever she can to make the best of it and create something for herself. I feel compelled to give the

warning that this book does not have a happy ending in the standard sense. However, if we look at

where she started off we can truly allow ourselves to appreciate that this is the ending that she needed

to have. The author includes an apology for the reader in order to address this lack of a typical happy

ending and she states that in order to truly find happiness, we must first find happiness within

ourselves. This could not be more true and I take that message away with me from reading this book

and will hold it closely to my heart. I highly recommend reading this book to anyone who is willing to

look past the darkness into the light that lives within and for those who are willing to forgo the typical

happy ending in exchange for a deeper and more meaningful reading experience. I am truly thankful to

have read this book as this is one of those books that carves a place inside of you and stays with you

forever.

HASH(0x93aba144) out of 5 stars Tragically Beautiful 10 Sept. 2015
By Home Is Where the Wine Is Book Blog - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This story mesmerized me. So much hurt and pain for one little girl to have to endure. I mean I think I would say “Ok people I give up!”

Fallyn has never known love. Being abused by her parents she is a mere shell of her ten year old self. Until fate steps in, in the form of a hitman tasked in killing her parents. But she doesn’t see a killer she sees a savior.

He takes her away from the only home she has ever known. Now she is surrounded by pink and girly things that she only dreamed of having. Realizing that her capture, Giano is no going to harm her further she starts to settle in.

Giano lost his wife and daughter in a tragic accident. When Fallyn enters his life he realizes that he might just retain a part of that spark that left when his family died. He knew it wasn’t going to be easy. Fallyn is supposed to be dead. So he devises a plan to turn Fallyn into Angelina…his lost daughter. Angelina was only a year older and with homeschooling they get Fallyn ready to enter school a year ahead of what she was supposed to be going into.

Angelina at first struggles fitting it but soon makes friends. Not only with some classmates but with her stranger. He intrigues her to the point of obsession. Why her? What does he do for work? As the years pass their relationship grows to something no exactly normal but then again there is nothing normal about them.

Only when the past comes back to haunt them does Angelina truly learn the truth about Gianao. She should be frightened but it only draws her closer. As her love for Giano grows so does Angelina. She is no longer the little girl but now a beautiful woman. She doesn’t want to leave him, she wants to stay forever. But fate has another plan and oh man it wll shock you.

The author I think was worried about how the readers would take this book. Yes it’s dark, yes it’s down right disturbing at times but I LOVED IT. She also gives you a treat at the tend. Two very different epilogues. Both have HEA but by far the first was my favorite.

Favorite Scene: 88%…all I’m saying…wow.

Favorite Quote:

“My Giano, My only lover by choice, my savior, and my greatest loss. You taught me how to live again, how to breathe, and you gave me the only safety I have ever had. Then you left me. You told me you would never deny me, but you didn’t stay.”

HASH(0x93aba2f4) out of 5 stars Love and betrayal in a dark world through the eyes of a child 6 Sept. 2015
By SEB - Published on Amazon.com

OMG...seriously...what just happened??? I have always been a huge fan of this woman's books and from her blue collar mechanics to her bad boy bikers, she writes some of the best "family" dramas around. Well this new book had me all kinds of excited and left me feeling shocked, upset, raw and dirty...but at least hopeful for the future of our young heroine who lived a life no young girl should have to endure.
It was heart-breaking, devastating, intense and just so wrong at times, but I knew that because I was reading a Chelsea Camaron book, she would take care of her characters and make sure we the readers, were completely satisfied with the outcome.
A young abused and traumatized girl, a dark and horror-filled night, one dangerous and mysterious stranger and the beginning of a life so out of the norm, that it becomes an alternate reality that will test and yet heal all parties involved...brilliant!
Heed the warnings...this might be very uncomfortable for some sensitive people but I love being left feeling used and abused after reading.
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.
