Product Description

When the last notes rang out in the Dublin o2 on Saturday 12 April 2014, the 9000 fans packing the venue knew that they were witness to the end of something special. The reunion that nobody thought would ever be possible did happen, but now the itch was scratched and that particular book was closed.

The last show on the last tour by one of England's best lived bands just had to be in Dublin, so I couldn't attend. Not fair. This dvd takes me there and it's pretty much the same show I saw in Manchester shortly before. The sound is absolutely A1 and the band plough determinedly though their early prime period songs with a passion. No extras, but you can buy the Wembley DVD to get those. And a slightly more spirited performance too.

I think that this night caught them realising the cameras were pointed at them and that the reunion that no-one ever believed would happen was nearly over and they just seem a little bit subdued. However! Every self-respecting Quo fan WILL buy this and love it. It will win over anyone who isn't familiar with them.

It is also a timely reminder to one and all that Status Quo does not just consist of Rossi and Parfiit (not even the current line-up).

It's hard to believe that this incredible sound is blasted out by 4 old men who should have given up years ago. The back line(Coghlan, Lancaster) is as solid as a freight train, Parfitts dynamic rhythms are as ever perfect and Rossi should be regarded as one of the finest lead guitarists ever, get this give your ears and eyes a treat AWESOME!!!!

This is excellent stuff which reminds you just how good the Quo can be. Forget the cabaret stuff of recent years, this is solid headsdown boogie as it should be played. Consisting of the odd single but mainly album tracks from the seventies, this shows the special magic that exists when this line up hits their straps. The added bonus cd is equally as impressive but it would have been nice to have more details of where the tracks were recorded. The blurb says it is made up of individual tracks from various venues but there is no sign of this on the packaging. In fact the only reason it didn't get five stars was because of the frankly pitiful packaging. Given the fact that last years dvd was pulled because of quality issues you would have thought the management would have got it right this time.

I saw Frantic Four in and was blown away 2013 and was blown away as to how good they were. I saw them last in 1984 at the Milton Keynes end of the road gig and this was miles better. No farty keyboards side stage just heads down no nonsense boogie. Even Mr Miserable Francis Rossi enjoyed himself. Twelve months later they reappeared with shows dubbed as the last ever chance to see the classic line up (Don't worry just a ploy to sell tickets ...They will be back). The 2014 tour was even better!! I saw the band at Manchester and putting bluntly one of the best gigs I've ever been to (...and that is from a total of about 300 gigs over 35 years).Gig hardened 20 stone blokes at the front were moved to tears...it was that good!! The Dublin show suffers from being in an Arena (Not Quo's best location) but still a 5 star gig. Watching this will give you a sense of how good this band are....... and I believe the atmosphere at Hammersmith London was even better.

Just buy it.

The original line up back together, and the energy is plain to see. You can tell the band are really enjoying themselves, and they are as tight as ever they were, performing all the "old" hits and favourites. A great concert, and I really hope they get together again for another tour.

We saw them at Wolverhampton, and this was a fantastic reminder of how good the "Frantic Four Lame Brains" last tour de force was. Took me back years (actually, last time I saw this line up was 1981 at the Deeside Leisure Centre.... marvellous, but no "Don't waste my time"....... and my Wife really wanted Alan Lancaster to do Over the edge, but you can't have it all.....
