A smashing little book suitable for the absolute beginner. It only has 48 pages but covers everything you need to know to make a start on scrapbooking including tools & materials, cropping, matting, colours & layouts, journalling & eyelets & embellishments. I bought it as a gift for a friend completely new to scrapbooking and am very pleased with it. I particularly like the fact that it's not obsessed with the distressed look which some designers seem to be at the moment. If you're familiar with scrapbooking it would not be a lot of use to you but, as I said, perfect for the beginner.

I just LOVE this book! Good layout ideas and properly explained for the beginner. I find myself referring to this book again and again and again. Especially when I think my LO's are getting 'busy' looking, it makes me rethink my LO to get a page that is much cleaner and keep focus on pic that the Lay Out was intended for in the first place. Highly recommended from me,( a beginner!)

As a complete beginner, overwhelmed by all the books on scrapbooking out there, I'm glad I chose this one.

Particularly helpful to me was the list of items you need to get started, and the information on how to trim and display your photos.

This is a great book if you have no idea where to start but the techniques and advice are quite basic and a lot of it is common sense.
It doesn't cover many embellishment techniques and there are few layout ideas. I feel I need to buy another book for more ideas and techniques.

Looking at other readers' comments I felt that this would be the ideal book for me. Unfortunately, I found it quite amateurish in its approach. Almost everything that was pictured looked home made. I was looking for a book that would challenge me with the result that most items I attempted I would not be ashamed to show. The pages were nicely laid out, giving the impression that this was made possibly for a young person.

New to Scrapbooking, I thought that this book would help me on my way. There isn't very much in it and I found buying a couple of mags and a couple of websites much more productive.
