I copied this CD onto my iPod and my Kindle so that I can listen to it in my car and while I drift off to sleep. I found that listening to it all the way through, then leaving it a coupe of days was the best method for me - you can overload on these things and end up getting frustrated that you can't remember it. So, allowing a couple of days for it to sink in then coming back to it works for me. I'm not sure if letting it play while I drift off to sleep allows any of it to penetrate subconsciously but I do it anyway - who knows?

I found the most beneficial time was listening to it in my car, especially on a one-hour journey in which you can hear pretty much the whole thing. Initially, I listened to the first 3 or 4 tracks and then repeated them until I'd got the hang of it. But, actually, after that I listened to the whole thing all the way through and I think this is the best way to learn. It doesn't matter that you can't remember the earlier tracks - just keep playing the whole thing over and over and pretty soon it falls into place.

After just a few weeks of listening every few days, I've pretty much got this whole CD and I'm keen to purchase the next one. Still not perfect on the first CD but a few more listens should crack it.

I found the two 'students' at first to be helpful. Then I enjoyed getting it right when the students got it wrong! Then after a while I found them ever so slightly annoying - especially the man who seems like a pompous twit to me!

The content is ok. I can ask where the restaurant/conference/information desk is, for example. But I don't know how to count, say 'please' of 'thank you', ask how someone else is or other kinds of small-talk things.

The classic "I've never written a review before but..." review

I have tried to learn a few languages and have always hit the problem of having to listen to the lessons over and over again before being able to remember it. This is by far the best set of audio lessons that I have listened to. I don't know if it's the "Michel Thomas Method" or just the Polish language, but having only listened to the first half of this cd, I feel pretty confident with it! Other than the first 3 minutes of introduction at the start of the cd, it's packed with content (so an hour long CD is actually quite a lot).

I haven't really had any problems understanding the woman on the cd, and their are two other "students" on the cd who also say the phrases, so anything that isn't clear first time around you can pick up from them.

Oh that's the other thing, the students on the CD actually make (what sound like genuine) mistakes, which is actually really good to hear, because it means they explain why there is a particular word order etc. The mistakes help understanding.

This is a good buy, although I think the recording/(accent in the recording) wasn't as clear as that of in the Michel Thomas: French, Spanish and Italian.

I really recommend this Michel Thomas DVD for people who are just starting learning Polish. It doesn't start with the usual boring 'Hello, how are you?' but throws you in to everyday language. It is easy to follow and it is well-structured.

What a great item...! Played this in my car during a 40 minute journey to work over 2 weeks and I had learnt every single phrase and word on this CD...So good, I have moved onto the total Polish box set. If you love to learn languages without writing, tuition fees or expensive courses, this is a great CD to give you a taste...

I find it impossible to understand the woman's accent.
The recording itself is quite poor quality.

I've learned French and Spanish with Michel Thomas, but I honestly don't understand a word the woman says, she has such a strong accent.

It really is such a pity that Michel didn't record hid native language himself.

I've now found a wonderful app on the Windows marketplace instead, called Translator+

was expecting more conversational use, but the method is sound enough.
