Make a Right-Angled Connection to Your SATA Drive, For Installation in Tight Spaces
The SATA18RA1 right angle (90 degrees) SATA cable features a standard (straight) SATA receptacle as well as a right-angled SATA receptacle, providing a simple 18 inch connection to a Serial ATA drive, with full SATA 3.0 bandwidth support of up to 6 Gbps when used with SATA 3.0 compliant drives.
The right-angled SATA connection enables you to plug in your serial ATA hard drive in hard to reach areas or tight spaces, while the low profile and flexible design of the cable improves airflow and reduces clutter in your computer case, helping to keep the case clean and cool.
Constructed of only top quality materials and designed for optimum performance and reliability
As an alternative, StarTech.com also offers an 18 inch left angle SATA cable (SATA18LA1), which provides the same simple installation as this right angled SATA cable, but allows the cable to connect to the SATA drive from the opposite direction.
This right angled SATA cable features a standard (straight) female Serial ATA connector as well as a right-angled (female) SATA connector, providing a simple 18in connection to a Serial ATA drive even if space near the drive''s SATA port is limited. Once the right-angled SATA connector has been inserted into the drive''s SATA data port, the shaft of the cable is seated flush with the rear panel of the drive, eliminating the clutter of excess cable at the connection point - an ideal solution for small or micro form factor computer cases. The right angled SATA cable features a thin, narrow construction that helps to improve airflow within the computer case; the cable also features a rugged, yet flexible design that makes it easy to make the SATA connection as needed, and is backed by StarTech.com''s Lifetime Warranty. As an alternative, StarTech.com also offers an 18in Left Angle SATA cable (SATA18LA1), which offers the same simple installation as this right angled SATA cable, but allows the cable to connected to the SATA drive from the opposite direction.See all Product Description

Through the wrapper the actual cable was in, I was pleased to see that it did indeed have a right-angle at one end, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were latch fastening ends too! This little bonus helps keep the cable in place very well, and it's easy to pop the cable out when you want to.
Label on wrapper says "NLRB-304LOCK. SATAII A staight connector to a R/A connector 45 cms length."
Considering that a high street electronics store (that I found with a Map - Lynne served me) was selling this at six times the price, and given the sweet surprise spec upgrade, I'd not hesitate to buy more from this place if ever I need another one!
It was well packaged.
It wasn't quite like the one shown - rather than have one in-line and one right-angled connector, the cable that I recieved had two right-angled connections. The fact that they sent me two cables (in seperate packages) I wasn't going to complain.
The length was just right - not too long and not too short.
The colour of the cable complimented the other items that were installed in my PC.
Oh yeah, it worked!
In the unlikely case you don't know what these are: it connects your SATA hard disk drive (almost every modern hard disk being sold will be SATA) to the motherboard (every modern motherboard will have SATA connectors). The only quirk of these is that one end is 90 degrees which helps if things are a bit tight inside the computer case.
The only one little niggling thing - is that I had to turn all my hard drives upside down. The angle seems to point the cable up instead of down, but it only took me a few seconds to do, so no fuss. Other than that it seems of reasonable quality.
There was a bit of drama with delivery. The tracking system showed it as lost when I actually had it in my mitt. Honesty prevailed, I resisted the temptation to ask for a refund.
