The book is a small hardback and full colour. The design is to appeal to a young Star Wars fan that wants to start reading something for themselves. There are plenty of challenging words to find here as half of them are made up for the Star Wars franchise! Each double spread poses a question and gives some tidbits in reply. How can a smaller ally bring down a group of Storm Troopers? With teamwork - see Ewoks.
There is a certain tongue and cheek to the book that makes it fun to read, even for an older Star Wars fan browsing it. It is almost as if DK are well aware that as cool as Stormtroopers look and act, they are a bit useless. The age range of 6-9 is about right for this book as it will prove a bit of a challenge to get through, but the result will be some new vocabulary and not all of it Star Wars based.
Well now you can find out the answer to all these questions plus more, all in bite-size bits of text in an A5 hardback book packed with glossy, full-colour pages containing stills from the films. It also takes you through all the different types of stormtroopers which was good to see and which is good reference for little ones.
The book took about 20 minutes for me to read through it so don't expect it to be super encyclopaedic, but all the basics will be covered. It does have some spoilers in it, for example about stormtrooper FN-2187, so also you might want to see the movies first.
Overall this book is suitable for kids, is not too difficult to read and is nice to look at. 4 stars.
As you’d expect from a DK book, it had nice clear text and great quality pictures. The text is set up as a question and answer and covers some very basic information about Stormtroopets. This might be a good book for a reluctant early reader who have shown an interest in Star Wars but won’t satisfy a fan who knows a little already.
Overall it’s not going to please an adult fan that is used to reading much more detailed books such as the encyclopaedias or fiction. But it’s perfect for children to build their knowledge to become super fans.
The book is full of info about StormTroopers, I thought I knew a lot about the Star Wars but not as much about the StormTroopers as lead characters.
Its an interesting book, 63 pages in total, with colour images and useful facts, I also have the DK book about Chewbacca, this I thought a better book, only because of the lack I knew of Stormtroopers.
Another item for Star Wars fans, I do think there are probably better books, this is okay
