'War', which ended Cade Skywalker's adventures, DIDN'T end the highest told events in the SW timeline.
How would I rate 'War'? Well, if you've followed Legacy from the beginning in 2006 (like myself)and have enjoyed it, invested in the plot, and characters, I would say, yeah. Read it. If you feel like past the 20 or so issues(whatever the equivalent that is for TPBs) it lost a bit of its thunder, and got tedious with some plots that felt extraneous, and unexciting, I would say give it a try anyway. Why do I say that? Because that was the case for me. I remember after the 'Claws of the Dragon' story arc, the proceeding stories that followed the main cast of characters started to bore me. Fact, I was more enjoying the stories that followed secondary characters like Gar Stazi or the Imperial Knights. And by issue 50, I had just lost all interest. Interest I once had reading Legacy when it started. Following the MAIN cast at least. But I decided to read 'War' anyway; considering (at the time) this was going to be the last Legacy comic story. And I remember being pleasantly surprised how much I was enjoying following a major storyline again. However, after reading 'War' I couldn't quite shake the feeling, and opinion, that it was rushed. It seemed Jon Ostrander and Jan Duursema were just trying to get to the climax as quick as possible, and tie all the lose ends up in the most quickest fashion possible. That's what I didn't like.
I remember reading 'The Unifying Force', and how great that was as a finale to the New Jedi Order series. To me, that was the perfect finale to a series. Legacy: War, just didn't give me the satisfying feeling that that book gave me. But despite all that, there are some great moments in 'War', the art by Jan Duursema is excellent, and if your looking for some cool battles and action that the SW franchise is known for, I'd say pick this up. Especially if you've followed 'Legacy from the beginning'.
