This is Season Three of "Star Wars: Clone Wars" on Blu-ray. It consists of 3 discs and presents 22 episodes. The series tells the story of what happens between the live-action Star Wars films "Attack of the Clones" and "Revenge of the Sith" - as the Republic battles against the Separatists in an effort to restore peace to the galaxy. This is a CGI animated series, intended for both children and adults. The audio and picture quality are superb - and I fully recommend watching this show in HD.

Many of the main characters from the films appear in the show - such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, Padmé Amidala, Count Dooku, General Grievous, and Yoda. Throughout, the adventure focuses on action - on battles and conflicts between the opposing sides, and on the role of the various bounty hunters. For the most part, the story concerns Anakin Skywalker and his young apprentice Ahsoka Tano engaged in missions to defend both the Jedi Order and the Republic. Additionally, much of this season is about the clone troopers - their training, fighting and lifestyle. This third season continues to develop a darker approach to the saga (as compared to the first season), with a greater sense of danger and peril. While several episodes are one-shot missions, most are concerned with developing the grander story-arc presented throughout the season. The animation works brilliantly, and the voice-acting is excellent. It's a highly entertaining show - and a lot of fun.

A lot of reviews say this is a mixed season, one of two halves and not as good as season 2. While I agree with some aspects of these reviews, I can't help but in some ways disagree. Season 1 was a decent start and what mainly kept me watching into season 2 was how good hostage crisis was. Season 2 definitely delivered, it had brilliant action and good stories, however I can't help but think that it was still an out and out action adventure which had still to come into its own. This season is where it solidifies itself as a TV programme that can really up the anti. Although there are a fair few political episodes the only episode, it does show the show is not all about one thing, and does expand and make clear the strong political storyline that runs through the films. An episode like Heroes on Both Sides perfectly illustrates this, and definitely excuses the others, as it does a great job of showing us another side of the separatists and the corruption that is really taking place in the universe. This season is also where I really started to believe in Ashoka as a character, she had her moments before, but here you could now see that in season 1 and 2, the creators were setting her up as a girl who goes through growing up and learns lessons. Her parts in the Mandalore episodes, Assassin, Heroes on Both Sides, Ghosts of Mortis and the season finale, really show how she has adapted her best qualities and how she isn't just a 2 dimensional character, but a character that has grown and learnt a lot, with a lot on her shoulders this season makes it even more interesting to see the fate of her.Read more ›

Seasons 1 & 2 were pretty okay but season 3 becomes darker as Anikin meets the dark side.
Despite a boring main menu set up at start, the second half of season 3 is blinding and its the best of the 3 seasons so far....
Sorry cant stop im watching season 4 now

Season 3 of the Clone Wars has a mixture of ok to very good episodes. 'Secrets' often is undersold as filler episodes set BEFORE episodes of seasons 1 and 2.

The reason I didnt enjoy this season compared to previous blu ray's is the presentation. There is now NO menu animation and the booklet is absent. The special features are quite enjoyable, and some could argue that the booklet's content is layered within the special features.

Star Wars fans enjoy, just dont expect your children to understand some of the earlier political episodes.

Some interesting ideas in this series, exploring the force, Ventress revenge with the Nightsisters/Savage Opress and some great action sequences, especially the battle for Kamino and Wookie hunt, which sees the return of Chewbacca but too many dull Coruscant episodes in my opinion and all placed in the first half of the season for some reason. I think IGN summed the season up perfectly, A lot of boring, followed by a lot of awesome!
