Product Description

The Stanley waterproof toolboxes features an all round water seal which ensures safe and dry storage. The box is constructed of structural foam for extra strength and has extra large storage capacity.

The portable tote tray is designed to carry tools and small parts, yet enables large tool storage inside the tool box as it is 3/4 length.

An integrated V-groove on top of the lid enables sawing when needed and it is also suitable for working with pipes and lumber. The tough ergonomic soft-grip handle allows heavy loads to be carried with ease and the large metal rust proof latches provide secure closing.

The Stanley STA192902 waterproof toolbox has the following dimensions:

58.3 x 30.5 x 26.7cm

The Stanley Works, originally a bolt and door hardware manufacturing company located in New Britain, Connecticut; was founded in 1843 by Frederick T. Stanley. A few years later, in 1857, Fredericks cousin, Henry Stanley, founded The Stanley Rule and Level Company. In 1920, The Rule and Level Company merged with The Stanley Works and would go on to become its famous Hand Tools Division.

From the timeless Classic 199 "Stanley Knife", a design icon of the 20th century, to the new range of "FatMax" hand tools, innovation and quality are synonymous with the Stanley name. Stanley is the number one brand for tools - demanded for their performance by professionals, enthusiasts and DIYers alike.

Stanley in the 21st century is much more than just knives. In addition to the world famous hand tools, the Stanley range now includes paint brushes and rollers, sliding doors, pneumatic fastening solutions and mechanics' tools.

This is a superb quality pro level tool box from Stanley. It feels very robust and has a good weight to it when empty. The plastic is good quality too and does not flex like cheaper toolboxes. The latches are made from metal which can be locked with padlocks for added security. The handle is quite chunky and feels firm.

Included is a small tote tray which covers about 2/3 of the length. This means there is an opening to one side which allows quick access to tools in the main compartment if required.

The waterproofing is not tested, but there is a good seal all around the underside of the lid. So hopefully there should not be any water ingress when stored in damp conditions.

An impressive toolbox. Recommended.

It's quite hard to write an interesting review on something so functional so i'll try to keep it brief and as helpful as I can.

I bought this toolbox when it was priced at £15 and for that money it's perfect. I needed something to hold all the tools I use around, and although this is huge for home use, the price justifies it nicely. The box itself feels extremely rigid and is made completely out of plastic, bar the stiff heavy latches on the front (which both support padlocks). It can even take my weight if I use it as a step up (15 odd stone) however I wouldn't feel comfortable if I was either carrying something heavy while using it as a stand as you do feel the slightest flex as you correct your balance.

Inside it has a 3/4 length removable tool "sled" which lets you put smaller common tools on top like side cutters and long nose pliers, while allowing access to heavier, bigger tools below without removing the sled. My only criticism about this product is the lack of screw organiser, however implementing that would have meant that the structure of the box wouldn't have been able to take my weight on the lid so its fine. Also I bought a three pound Stanley branded organiser which fits perfectly inside anyway so swings and roundabouts.

I'd recommend this 100% under £20, maybe £25 if you have larger tools but if its closer to £30 then i'd look towards something with a built in organiser unless you really want to use this as a step up too.

Purchased this toolbox for my mobility scooter batteries when disassembled for transportation in my car. The size of this toolbox was perfect by the fact that the inside is not tapered towards the bottom like others often are, the strength was also another consideration, didn't want the lid to come loose or open when lifted, I particularly like the two solid metal closure catches, they really clamp tightly.

The box is also watertight thanks to a rubber seal around the inside lip of the box and of course the all important handle is also another point, which I must say is well up to the job.

Very well made and I would thoroughly recommend

Bought a SkyWatcher EQ5 telescope mount last year (see my review elsewhere dealing with the tripod itself), which - being a big beast - was not always the easiest to lug about. After dithering about it for quite some time, I plunged into buying this box in order to store and carry the equatorial mount (not having the resources to splash out on a dedicated Peli case).

The box looks and feels substantial. Having a waterproof seal on it means that I would have to worry less about the electronics of the mount and the SynScan unit getting damaged in storage or outside. Given the nature of the equipment the removable tray that normally sits inside the box had to be removed, but for my purposes it was of little use anyway. I had originally intended to get foam and create a cut-out scaffold into which to sit the equipment (and I may still do that at a later date), but I came across some left-over foam scaffold that a PC case had been delivered in, which just happened to be the right size for the mount and the box.

With this temporary scaffold in place, the box has been able to take the equatorial mount, a couple of the smaller counterweights, all the associated electronics and cabling and still leave space in there. As I mentioned, the box feels substantial and while it was able to take my 100kg weight on the lid, it was clearly getting to a point where it might not take much more. The box won't necessarily protect the mount from damage should you drop it (but given the mount's weight, that might be an issue for a lot of storage containers), but it does allow you to have the mount and all the associated gubbins within easy reach and keeps everything located in one place.

I've tried different toolboxes in the past and never really found one that met my needs until now, this one is big enough for things like a small hammer, some clamps, a small spirit level, hacksaws, chisels and the tote tray holds small screwdrivers and spanners. It fits neatly in the boot off my Fiat 500 with room for my drill in its box at the side. It is sturdy with substantial catches. The great thing about the box though is that it has a groove across the top which is really useful as an impromptu sawhorse and I've used it to cut copper pipes, plastic pipes, conduit, trunking and some joists. Brilliant.
