After ruining a carpet with our computer chair we changed the carpet and used cable ties to hold plastic cups onto the chair casters. After a couple of weeks of them rotating round the wheel and breaking we eventually found these. And they are a godsend. They stop you "motoring along" while sitting on the chair but still allow the chair to be dragged easily across the carpet. And the marks disappear quickly if you tend to move the chair often. Our carpet should last a LOT longer.
A few points to notice. Our chair had 5 casters so I was pleased to find these in a pack of 5.
I almost didn't buy them because the Amazon product description said the Stem Diameter was 11.7mm and my chair stems were 10.8 - 10.9mm. With the option of drilling out the chair fixing I ordered them and they fitted fine - and the stem on them was ALSO 10.8-10.9mm. So, is the description a bit off or is it my electronic vernier gauge?
The only other thing to note is the height of them. My chair ended up just over an inch lower which since it was fully extended and the monitor, keyboard and mouse positions were on fixed furniture this was the only disadvantage.
So, all in all - a great product, sturdy, and reasonably priced - just what we were looking for (almost - all we need now is to find a slightly higher set).
Delivery was also prompt.
