HASH(0x9368c99c) out of 5 stars A very comprehensive elementary method 1 Nov. 2007

I'm not a band director, but I've played in a lot of bands, and can say this series avoids dryness while allowing a sensible progression in musicianship for the whole band. I especially like the fact that the percussion book includes snaredrums and bells equally. For an alternative check out the Rubank method.

My son uses this book during his percussions class in school. The children are not allowed to bring the book home and I wanted him to practice. I was able to purchase the book and now he practices daily.

My son uses this book every day in beginner percussion band and loves it. The book is easy to follow, yet challenges the students at the same time.

It's a great learning book for my nine-year-old. All aspects of reading music and hand placement, etc. are covered. Two page spread has left side for drums and right side for "bells". Easy to read and understand. I'm thinking about getting for school & one for home.
