Great performance and recording quality. For once the recording engineer got the balance right. The whole thing is first rate....every word audible and terrific dynamics. The organ quality is just hair raising. A seriously assertive instrument, played very musically and to full effect. Registration changes seamless and supported the powerful emotional and spiritual message of the work. Can't fault it.

Got to love this piece of music but don't admit that to any but your closest friends. I bought this recording because I know one of the soloists, although I have to say the warbling is worse than usual.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is an old recording (from the 1950s, I think) but a really good one. 17 Sept. 2010

I have the original release of this on LP from Angel Records and its fantastic. What an emotional, inspired performance. Listening to it is a truly spiritual experience.
