The arm attaches to the plate awkwardly, and it's flimsy. Very flimsy, when I finally decided to at least make it look like in the amazon picture - it isn't leveled. Instead, it's tilted a little to one side. Sadly - this is another piece of china. I expected better from Stagg.
Overall - the quality of the product is weak. The paint is bubbly and uneven (I'm nitpicking here), it doesn't feel solid or well designed ( look at the image, the arm should be flipped upside down, and no - you can't remove the screw to flip it - you'll just have to look at that "made in china" sticker all day ).
It might work for some, but unless you want to use it exactly like it's positioned in the product image - this thing isn't for you.
I was a little tipsy (very) and playing a simulated driving game with my G27 (steering wheel and gearshift). I kept pulling the gearshift off of the table and got frustrated. So In haste I ordered some parts that I believed would build me the most awesome gearshift holding device even seen!
When it arrived I was a bit surprised as I wasn't fully aware I had bought it.
All that aside it is a very very well built piece of kit and will last a very long time if looked after. You can't go far wrong with this.
Initially i was going to go for the large version but the measurements were very large, so decided to go for the small. After seeing the large stand was lansdcape in dimension, the image of the small stand also looked (at first glance) landscape, but when it arrived it was vertical.. No biggie, but the image is a little deceiving. It attaches well to the cymbal stand and just fits an Open A4 drum book, if you dont mind it hanging off the edges a bit.
The extension arm is only 6 inches to the first swivel point, so don't expect too much placement options other than in front of the stand or slightly to the sides, but it's very sturdy and has a clear rubber gromet on the end of the nut so you don't scratch your stand when you tighten it.
But I have two and they are very well made and excellent value.
Come on guys make it either adjustable or a bit longer.
In any case, I'm sure many others will have found more innovative ways to use it to their benefit. I'll just have to keep tinkering!

Pretty great! I'm able to attach this to the metal posts for my cymbals on an electronic drum kit. Just what I needed - I can now 'play' and actually see the music. Awesome.Published 21 days ago by Guy Pritchard
This stand is very well made and good value. Very handy for our drummerPublished 6 months ago by Colin
I am still adjusting it on the mic stand for the 'perfect' position but it solves my problem of having a large conventional music stand on stage.Published 6 months ago by Mr. R. B. Fielden Nicholls
A good price and a chunky lump of metal which does the job. The bracket which fixes the arm onto the stand is not a brilliant fit but this is the only minor quibble.Published 9 months ago by M. Orford
the lower fitting is a bit weak - mine is loose now so not as good as I'd like it.Published 10 months ago by bigbob
