The sharpener works well with the Staedtler Noris Club Pencils, which are hexagonal in section, sharpening each one to a nice point with very little effort. I have also used it with other (very old) pencil sets, including some Derwent Artists pencils (round) and it also performed well with those.
I have included some before and after images of some pencils that I have used this sharpener on.
The sharpener is comfortable to hold, and I like the fact that it holds the sharpener so you don't have to get up and find a waste bin when you need to sharpen pencils in the middle of using them, and also the little flap that clicks over the opening means you can just chuck it in your bag without worrying about little bits falling out.
The only issue I had was when sharpening an old pencil which i didn't know had a broken lead, and the lead point broke off and became stuck in the sharpener and took some fiddling with a cocktail stick to remove, but this could happen with any sharpener of this type.
Overall I am happy with it so far and would recommend it.

So yes, it's not a specialist triangle pencil specific sharpener... just regular one with a triangular pot. But it does what you expect and sharpens pencils (as do any other sharpeners) regardless of shape of pencil - but it handily does have two different sizes for chunkier pencils.
It also sharpens beautifully to a really good solid sharp point.
I am going to get one for youngest son and one for me too and merrily chuck out all those other substandard sharpeners lurking in shame in the depths of their pencil cases...
I have spent far too much money buying multiple cheap sub £1 sharpeners that either break (cheap plastic ones), get lost (the small ones) or were either too blunt to sharpen or the blade is at the wrong angle and mangle pencils.
This sharpener is moderately more expensive but we're only talking a pound odd more and this one will last!
Its made of good strong plastic that will stand up to some serious use, the blade is sharp and quickly sharpens all widths of pencil, its also brightly coloured and of a good size so it holds a lot of shaving and is not so easy to loose without taking up too much room. The top also comes off with just the right amount of force so it wont work its way open in a pencil case
