A beautiful, very sweet desert wine from Hungary nicknamed 'the king of wines'. Enjoy on its own or served chilled with a summer pudding or sticky toffee pudding.
The Precious drops of noble Tokaji Aszu were already consumed by kings in the cezars centuries ago. Louis XIV, the famous king of France named this excellent drink the "Wine of kings, king of wines" (Vinum regum, rex vinorum). The crown of the first king of Hungary, the crown of St. Stephan, symbolizes the high quality of the wine. Made with carefully selected berries shrivelled by "noble rot" aged in small wooden barrels in traditional cellars of Tokaj.
Spicy Chinese or Indian courses.
This wine has a very complex aroma with hints of apricots and spice. The palate is dominated by tropical fruits, lime and grapefruit in particular and the overwhelming sensation is one of freshness. The finish lingers seductively.
