Having recently bought the Bodymax CF310 squat stands I can see these are essentially the same product. At the time of writing the Bodymax CF310 stands are showings as: "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock" so if you had your eye on those these might be the ones to buy instead, probably these are just the newer version anyway.
The differences between the two are that the securing pins on this version cannot come out accidentally whereas the straight securing pins on the CF310 can do. The catcher bars have a rounded plate at the end (no sharp corners) whereas they were square on the CF310. Another change is the spring pull-action pin for the catchers on the CF310 appears to have a twist and pull action on this version. Finally a supporting strut at the bottom of the stand is now bolted rather than welded which probably allows the stands to be broken down better for shipping but should be irrelevant otherwise.
The big improvement seems to be the price.... I paid £79.99 with free shipping for these only a month or so ago while these are only £49.95 + £8.90 UK delivery.
Had to give a star rating on these to leave a "review". I would have given my version 4 stars so I'll give 5 for these as they seem to have improved on things somewhat.
Recommend to a friend for sure, you simply cant go wrong
The screw-in safety catches are of use when using a flat bench but they aren't going to be of any use to if you get stuck at the bottom of a squat using a heavy weight, especially if you are on your own without a spotter.
Overall, the stands are a great way to start out. If you don't take to weight lifting them I suppose you haven't wasted a lot of money but I'd suggest that if you stick at it, you'll be wanting to invest in a power rack within 6-12 months (especially if you train alone), its a lot safer which means you'll attempt lifts with a lot more confidence. They can be had for as little as £200-£400 if you shop around and they tend to hold their value.
If space is an issue then alternative sturdier compact racks are available, Marcy have a decent range worth exploring.
