SquareTrade's claim process is painless - start over the phone. Express shipping is free to and from SquareTrade's depot, and you will be sent a special shipping box for fragile electronics. You will receive email updates at every step in the process so you will never be left in the dark:

Hassle-Free Warranty

SquareTrade has designed the warranty with your needs in mind. They make it easy for you to:

  • Cut the paperwork. You can fax or email SquareTrade your item receipt any time, and they will store it as proof of purchase.

  • Cancel anytime. In the first 30 days, you may cancel for a full refund. After that, you are reimbursed the unused part of your warranty – e.g., if you cancel your 3-year warranty, after 18 months with no claims, you'll get 50% of your money back.

  • Transfer at no cost. When your device changes ownership, so can your warranty. Transfers can be done via phone.

  • No refurbished replacements.The last thing you want when your item breaks down is a cheap refurbished item that is two generations old. If your item breaks and can't be fixed, you will be reimbursed your full item replacement cost. Reimbursement may be in the form of a cash settlement or a gift card from the merchant from which you bought the insured item.

Other Things You Should Know:

  • Upon purchase, you will get an email. This is your official confirmation of a purchase. The email will also have a link to the "My Warranties" section on the SquareTrade website where you can view and manage your warranties. You will not get a paper contract unless you request one. So as to offer an efficient customer experience, SquareTrade may also contact you about your purchase by telephone.

  • Please read the terms and conditions in the .pdf file at the top of the page. There is an easy to understand Key Facts Document with all the highlights you need to know.

  • Warranty lasts three years from item purchase date. Your warranty plan begins on the date you purchased your item and is inclusive of the manufacturer warranty period. For pre-ordered products call SquareTrade to extend your warranty plan to the actual shipping date. If you have an issue and are covered by the manufacturer at that time, you'll be directed to the manufacturer first.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY, I CALLED TWICE FOR HELP AND TWICE THEY DIDN'T! NOTHING BUT HASSLE, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND AVOID.
First time was motor on the washing machine gone, apparently it was a manufacturer fault
Second time a part wore off due to normal/instructed use and they refused on the basis that it was "accidental" damage.
Just useless.

The Amazon listing fails to state that:

1) this warranty is only available for products bought on Amazon

2) the warranty is only available on certain items - excluding tablets (and presumably lots of other things)

And I only found this out because I emailed the company - they would have been quite happy to take my money then refuse any subsequent claim.

Have had two Squaretrade warranties for my last two cameras, both of which I managed to break, both of which they arranged cash refunds for without quibble or complaint and even without hanging on the end of the phone for ages. Easy to talk to human beings and very straightforward processes, would not hesitate to buy again for my next camera (it's why I'm looking them up on Amazon right now!)

We've been insuring our electronics with Square Trade for the last three years now. Fortunately we were doing well until last month when our iPod and Nintendo 3DS both decided to misbehave and stop working. Square Trade resolved both problems quickly and efficiently by repairing one and sending us a refund for the other. Communication with their call centre was excellent, we had regular updates and they actually phoned back when they said they would (which is very unusual nowadays). They even have free phone numbers for mobiles and landlines to call them. We have since insured another device with them as it really is excellent value for money and would not hesitate recommending this company. Don't have much more to say really and think I have now reached the word min. Bonus!!

I purchased this product to cover a stand mixer.
I wanted to confirm that the cover purchased was correct
for the appliance and made a phone call.
The issue was clarified promptly with the utmost efficiency.
I am extremely pleased however have not had to claim so cannot
comment on that aspect.

I had a warranty with them and after 2 years the product it was covering developed a fault. They were amazing, didn't quibble and paid out in full with no hassle. Highly recommend them.
