Spyro a heros tail has to be the best adventure game it has ever been my pleasure to play!
This is the story - All is not well in the Dragon Realms.... The fallen Dragon red and his ghastly crew are using the Dark gems to drain the life from the dragon world and its up to a group of five friends to stop them! Playing as Spyro, Hunter, Sparx, Sgt. Bird and Blink you must fight your way through 4 gigantic realms and over 40 different levels in an attempt to stop Red and the forces of evil! New features to the game include devices such as the ball gadget, the invincibility gadget, 3 new forms of power breath, 4 types of fun rewarding mini games and graphics that are far better than those in the previous games! Spyro a Heros Tail is fun for all ages! Dont bother buying any other adventure games for the family this christmas! Spyro a Heros Tail is all you need! And Dont forget......... THE ADVENTURE HAS JUST BEGUN!

i am a huge fan of spyro, and own all his ps1 and 2 games and have for quite a while. i love the series, and think the 3rd game was the best, and the 4th was absolute rubbish. so as you can guess, i wasn't expecting great things from this one. it starts off all well and good, albeit a bit too easy. and that goes throughout the game, its just a bit too easy, for someone like me who wants to relive the spyro i've loved for all these years.im sure i'd be just the ticket for younger gamers, but all the way through the series i have thought it can pull in older and younger gamers alike, which has gone now, it's aimed solely and the younger generation. however, well done to them for bringing back the old characters, but where's bianca?

Absolutely great fun, we own all the Spyro games and after buying Enter the Dragonfly last year we were a bit worried this might be a bit of a flop, but we were not disappointed in the least. Graphics are great, Spyro has lots more abilities this time around too. My 6 year old son finished it this morning and is looking forward to starting it again tomorrow!

I did not play a lot pf spyro on ps1 exept for spyro 2 Riptos rage and loved it but unfortanatly lost it ):. In my playstation years I played some series like ratchet and clank, jak and daxtar, crash bandicoot and spyro the dragon, and oh yeah tomb raider. Everyone says that a year of the dragonfly sucks and I liked it when i were little but playing it now yeah it does suck with constant framedrops, lazy enemydesigns, bad controls the grafics were alright. My dad got me a heroes tale, I played it and loved it and stills does today. the game is very fun with great grafics, great voiceacting, fun story, great bosses espacially the final boss. The game escaped the portals from the earlier spyro entries and instead changed with keys you colud use to travel around the land and it was nice and fun. The side missions are very funn and i like them all, none side quest are fun, both challenging and fun. The powers you get are very fun with all having diffrent strenghts and weaknesses while one of the powers are to overpowered after my opinion. You can also find the many dragon eggs, about 80 and when you find them all you get no reward witch is a shame making it pointless because it has nothing to do with the story. So for completionists it is not worth but playing and exploring are super fun and I recomend you to try it out. The game gets a 9/10. I hoped this rewiew hjelped you and you do not need to like, doing this just to hjelp others (:.

well after helping my child through all the other spyro games, I was quite looking forward to "helping her" on this one. Well I am not impressed! Spyro moves around more like a rabbit than a fire breathing dragon and it is a totally different game play than the rest of the series!!! Please, Please bring back Spyro the way he was and all the portals and different worlds.

I swear down this game is the best. Spyro is a little badman in da hood, thinking he can take on bare man. The hard mans of the hood are getting what's coming to them, spyro has had enough living in the scumy part of dragon land and is trying to make a name for himself. He ha had enough of been pushed around and terrorised by the ugly fat scum. He goes around on foot cus he is too poor to afford any transportation, at one point he tries to steal a ford fiesta but gets beaten by bare man and left to die on the pavement. This game is crazy, hours of fun about a dragon making it big in the small world. You can be spyro and other characters such as, l dot, biggy small, Shizzle mehizzle and the weird mutated flyin penguin. All are equipped with deadly skills to rough up the hard mans that roam the streets. Can you make it in this neighbourhood?

By now any follower of Spyro the Dragon will know how much he's devolved ever since he was out of Insomniac's hands and this goes to show how Sierra can royally screw up a franchise. In saying that, who played Skylanders? As a 4-year old fan now in his 20s, I can say that was a great game. It may not have been Spyro, but if you think of it as "a cameo appearence", you'll love it even more.

But onto the game at hand. Spyro: A Hero's Tail has mixed views from me despite me giving it 4/5 stars. This story isn't all that good, especially when it destroys the fact that dragons were a good people, but now are becoming corrupted. This happens later in the franchise. Players won't be going through portals to new places but instead linger around extremely large lobbies exploring. It's rather fun but if you get stuck, you'll not be finding out what to do immediately.

We have old characters returning like Hunter and Sgt. Byrd, who make some brilliant wise-cracks and even our purple friend himself breaks the 4th wall a few times. Plus we have new characters like Red and Blink, both of which have their own great personal traits. Fans of Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer will be more familiar with this game, than fans of the 3rd installment.

As for gameplay, it's pretty new and revamped a LOT. Spryo's flame and charge controls have been reversed which can take some getting used to. Also as one critic here said "Spyro moves like a sheep", and he's not wrong. Spyro doesn't charge but instead gallabants through the country as if he's a pony. His attacks have seen better days, and so's his voice.

Either way, the it's a great addition to the franchise and if you're forgiving, it'll let you off a few times and make things real easy. It doesn't have all the frustrations and free rides of other games, but it's still punishing in other areas. A must buy for Spyro fans, but be ready for change.
