" If you have a child, deal with children, or simply are interested in doing guided exercises that are pure and simple to the point of being elegant, then please consider this book. It is as much for and about us adults who need to regain our lost childhood as it is about us adults teaching children how to actualize their power. The children are our future. With people like Maureen at the helm, we can all breathe a little easier about what kind of world they will inherit." — "Meditation"

""Spinning Inward "can be the critical event in children's lives as it gives them ways to open to potentials of mind and body that will greatly enhance their capacities for learning and discovery. This is a book to be used again and again in home and school and wherever one wishes to avail oneself of rich and exciting exercises to expand human possibilities." HASH(0x9d108c84) out of 5 stars Not Just For Children 19 April 2000
By Alison B. Currie - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
When this book first came out I read it as a classroom resource. I noticed that the class was more calm after the exercises, and when I talk to some of them, now 10+ years later, they still remember some of the images. It's excellent for all ages. It says "Children" on the cover, which would tend to turn adults off, but it's excellent. I still use it today

HASH(0x9dcb32ac) out of 5 stars Very Inspiring 29 Aug. 2005
By arkini - Published on Amazon.com

A very inspiring book, very accessible, and easy to grasp ideas (... for parents, teachers as well as the kids). I like that you can easily choose a meditation according to the age group, and also read about childrens experiences after having done the meditation.

Anyone interested in teaching children something they can carry with them for life should read this book.

HASH(0x9dcb3360) out of 5 stars As a mental health therapist, this is never on the bookshelf long! 23 Feb. 2010
By Kim - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Working with children and adolescents, I have found this an excellent resource for introducing guided imagery into therapy. Generally, kids ranging from elementary to high school really enjoy the exercises. I do find myself using a few of the exercises more often than others. I especially like one exercise titled "The Ally Within." I feel like this is a simple and easy to use book for working with children and adolescents. I've even used this text in a training with middle school teachers. Great resource, very useful!

HASH(0x9d10d1bc) out of 5 stars Highly recommended! 20 April 2009
By Mira Binzen - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book is listed in the resource section of all our training manuals. It is a perfect fit for children's Yoga. The exercises are simple and creative. Children love to spend time drawing afterwards and discussing their experiences. When someone asks me to recommend just one book to use as a resource for teaching children wellness through awareness, I tell them this is it!
