I purchased this DVD following the release of the second Spider-man film, not as a follow up to the film, but simply because it reminded me of the cartoon series from my later childhood, which was fantastic.

This "film" introduces the symbiot costume into the whole spider-man world, allowing us to see how it originally bonded with peter parker, and the influence it eventually had over him.

Upon realising the costume is alive, and somewhat sinister, peter eventually removes himself from the costume. Following this the costume then bonds with Eddie Brock, a reporter who despises Spider-man.

Once the two have bonded we now have Venom, a creature which has similar powers to spider-man, only "souped up". From then on the battle takes place as Spider-man try's to defeat this new enemy.

Won't spoil the ending, but the story itself is a great deal of fun and can be watched by the kids. Features the kingpin, rhino, and shocker for those a bit more familier with the spider-man world, and also for those who were wondering introduces Carnage, the symbiotic offspring of Venom.

Well worth the money, average animation, fun script, expect to see a few sections of this "film" to be carried over to Spider-man 3 this May.

Enjoy!

In a brilliant cartoon series, the venom episodes stood out as the best. When a mysterious lifeform from outer space takes over a man on Earth, Spider man comes face to face with his worst adversary yet. The vile, evil, spiderman look-a-like, VENOM. These episodes were brilliant, and captured the comic book atmosphere perfectly. On a scale of 10,20!

We work for L'Arche Bognor Regis, which has residential and day care for adults with learning disabilities. We live as friends and family - and are part of a national/international federation. We believe in mutually transforming relationships and promote the gifts of people with learning disabilities, realising that we all have disabilities, needs and gifts.
The DVD was purchased for one of our day service users for his birthday - and he was delighted with it - as he did not have this one. The order was promptly and perfectly delivered.

Do look us up on the internet - and/or YouTube L'Arche Bognor Regis, and watch 2 of our productions: 'The Most Important Person in the World' and 'The Beatitudes'. Thank you very much for your excellent help . . . Mary Ann Bart

I bought this film from this website and was quite anxious to watch it. First time round I thought it was amazing but first inpressions are often wrong. After watching a few times I spotted some mistakes and I also interpretated what was going to happen. All in all it was a good film but not the sort of thing you would want to watch over and over, so thats why I only rate it with three stars.
