Synopsis
People retiring today can have as much as a third of their lives ahead of them. And today there are so many retirement options and opportunities to choose from. Did you know, for example, that nearly as many 'oldies' are taking gap years as students? And retirement villages and apartments, where independence is balanced by security, are becoming the way of the future. Your retirement needs careful planning - not just financially, but also in terms of making the most of the leisure time ahead. When will you retire and will you retire completely? Where will you live and what will you do? Will you sell up, stay put, downsize, move abroad, move nearer the kids? What about pensions, allowances, your finances and inheritance planning (just in case you don't spend it all!)? Will you want to travel - or take up a new hobby? This book shows how to make sure you stay healthy and wealthy enough to fulfil your dreams.
About the Author
Coronation Street star Annie Hulley wrote this book after researching retirement accommodation for her mother, and helping her to make the move. She realised what a huge subject it was and began to look at her own retirement and the planning it would need. She has covered the subject with the same thoroughness and attention to detail as her previous book, the bestselling How To Be a Property Millionaire.
