I am ex RAF and decided to purchase the book for enjoyment. Although not directly referred to, their are many NLP queues and guidance as alternate chapters reflect life experience, followed by coaching techniques and goal setting.
It's very enjoyable and I did read it in one sitting. Mental health affects many people and It is very compelling to hear from both authors and how mental health has impacted both of their lives. "Self will run riot" offers further clues to experiences that are not covered in the book.
I am so pleased to have read this, it is inspirational and a very honest account of both authors lives.
Rogers ability to bounce back from some tough situations -especially his own mothers death -is truly a marvel to behold and you really are taken on an emotional rollercoaster.
The level of honesty in this book is really refreshing and I particularly enjoyed the parts discussing the power of positive thinking and ways to maintain and utilise this mental state.
Overall a really good book that is not only interesting but allows you to take a few life lessons away from it as well
-it's only downfall is that it is slightly short at only 105 pages
Excellent Job Rog, Don and Co. Wishing you all the very best.
Thank you for sharing your experiences because it has helped a lot.
This is a excellent read. Real life examples of the extraordinary challenges and experiences that two men have lived through. Really clever the way the stories are linked to exercises that help you explore and challenge the way you think and motivate yourself and your teams. A great read for not only self help but for anyone involved in team leadership, coaching and mentoring in work or sports.
