Format: Audio CD
This album is really peerless as an attempt at making highly creative solos. Marty Friedman and Jason Becker had developed in Speed Metal Symphony hybrids of all sorts of classical concepts, and other musical shredding ideas like Chinese and Egyptian scales. The song, "Burn The Ground" is one of the best on the album. This album is one of the darkest and best pieces of guitar artwork that I have ever heard, and having searched quite thoroughly the ouvres of the kinds of guitarists that I would expect great art from, this album is one of the most substantial gems to be found.

Jason and Marty have to be one of top guitar duo's, I certainly can't think of one I like more. If you're looking at this, chances are you're looking for good shred guitar material... well, you've found it! There are two amazing instrumentals("Concerto" & "Speed Metal Symphony") and a bunch of great songs, particularly "Savage", "The Ninja" and "Desert Island". Some of the most interesting and unusual guitar phrasing is hidden inside this album. Definitely worth the buy in my opinion.

Becker and Friedman serve up solos that melt your face. I had this on cassette in 1987/88 and nearly wore out the tape. Nearly 30 years later it still makes me smile at the utterly outrageous guitar lines. Young men playing without fear or limits: marvellous!
