Anyone who loves visiting gardens could have a good day out in this garden. There is much to see and do, and that includes children. The design of the garden is spectacular, as are the plants that grow in the garden. This DVD shows the garden in full bloom and the colour is magnificent. Truly a spectacular garden. Glad I bought the DVD so I can enjoy the garden whenever I wish to!

I was disappointed with this. Not for serious gardners. The Garden may well stand out in Northumberland, an area that is not well served by great gardens and which has a very challenging climate. But compared to other great English gardens this is rather charmless. The garden is modern, but not really "contemporary."The Duchess puts her finger on it when she describes wanting to creating a public park. This is exactly what she has done, no doubt at huge expense. The bunching together of flowers is not thought through, and the municipal feel to much of the modern waterworks is depressing. No doubt this is a great garden for the locals and for their children, but there appears no attempt whatsoever to place this space in context. This could have (should have?) been built in the middle of Newcastle rather than next to the great seat of the Prcys.

I was able to visit this garden in 2013 and the DVD brings back some lovely memories. Well photographed and narrated.
