I bought this for a studio space, it works and cools the space ok. However, it was damaged when it arrived, and it's missing a wheel.
I know I could have claimed and exchanged possibly, but we desperately needed it for our clients and could not wait for long to negotiate this.
Also, the drainage of water at the back is very poor, it is basically just a little hole on the body, so it's very difficult to catch the water. It flooded our floor several times. Why didn't someone put a bit of nozzle or something so I can place a container of some sort underneath??? Or is it missing too? There's no space underneath the body so it's impossible to place a shallow bowl either. It's a total design fault. It's just a joke when you come from a country where air conditioning is a norm and very advanced. I didn't realise that until I bought this in the UK.

The product is operated via remote control. But unfortunately the remote does not work, so cannot accurately give a review of this product

Something that should be made clear is this unit is very heavy - 40KG, about 15 stone apparently! I ordered one a couple of days ago, the delivery driver just turned up but had to take it away again as he was on his own and could not carry it up the stairs (I live in flats with no lifts) and I would not be strong enough to help him. Haven't even received the product yet so cannot comment on it but readers should be aware of the unit's weight. Another reviewer has said it is on wheels so shouldn't be a problem if you can get it in your property, just might be tricky moving it up stairs

    Thank goodness.
Arrived promptly and proved a live saver.
It is noisy and not light, but for the money the results were great easily cooling a 3m x 4.5m log cabin.
Not the products fault, but for efficiency & best results think about how/where the exhaust goes. We have the door slightly open which is far from perfect.

We bought this for our 5 month old baby who is a 'hot' baby,to cool down his room before bed. The unit does weigh a fair bit but is very easy to move around on the wheels. It works SUPERB cooling a 25degree room average size to 17 degrees in about 1hr. I have used it daily for 3hrsvat a time on an evening for over 2 months and the water indicator is still only at half so I can't say how easy it is to empty. The only downside is the hot air pipe out of the back which is too short, unit has to be close to a window, but amazon do an extension pipe which I am looking into. This is highly recommended by me and does justbwhatbi needed.

comes with a pipe that has to be ripped to fit on to the nozzle

comes with a pipe that is so short, i literally can't understand how anyone would have a window low enough to actually put the stock pipe out of

so you need to wait 3 days for delivery, then go back onto amazon to order another pipe that is longer, before you can actually use it

WHY DON'T YOU JUST CHARGE AN EXTRA FEW £ FOR THE PRODUCT AND GIVE US A PIPE THAT ACTUALLY WORKS/IS FIT FOR PURPOSE IN THE FIRST PLACE?

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IS MY RECOMMENDATION

This unit is a fair bit cheaper than the competition and generally works ok. The room I'm trying to cool is probably a bit big for the 8000BTU rating (6m x 3m) but it does provide fairly effective cooling. Several niggles:

1.) You can only switch it on or off from the unit - the remote is needed to switch modes, set temperature, etc
2.) The hose assembly is pretty shoddy and needs some patience (and ideally some duck tape) to get right, especially if you're trying to vent out of a window.
3.) It's noisy - all such units are - but this one has an annoying tendency to make a plastic rattling noise as well from the vibration. On the plus side in 'fan only' mode it's pretty quiet relative to a similarly powerful tower fan.
4.) I have found that the temperature gauge for the room temperature gets warmed up by the heat coming off the hose so it doesn't accurately reflect the room temperature.
5.) Most annoyingly the water capacity seems tiny... it gets full in under an hour of use on a hot and humid day. The drain point is also annoyingly low down which means that you'll need to invest in a low and wide oven dish or similar to drain it without making a mess. And when it does get full there's an annoying beeper that goes off so no real chance of leaving it on overnight while sleeping (even if you can sleep through the substantial noise it makes at the best of times). The only solution I've found is to leave the drain plug open and the oven dish under the hole so that it can constantly drain. This gives me about 2.5 hours of run time before it starts to overflow.

We purchased this air conditioner six months ago to cool the bar store at our restaurant. It has run all day, every day, without any problem, pre-chilling our wine and beer, and removing the considerable excess heat generated by an ice machine, two fridges and a commercial beer chiller. Although not its intended operation, this machine shows no signs of strain. It just works!
