Product Description

About the Author

Born and raised in New Orleans, Annie has a habit of shortening her words and telling long stories. She speaks with a southern flair and cooks with it too. At the tender age of twenty- one, she hitched up her wagons (took her first plane ride) and moved out west to the big shake (California). Her writing career began one sleepless night when she imagined a gorgeous woman and a man with maniacal hair floating above her like lightening bugs falling from the sky. Curious about them, their story, and why they were floating around in her head, she sat down and penned (typed) her first novel, Marigny Street. A dream come true for her, she hasn't stopped writing since. She loves a damn good love story, always has, no matter what the genre. She is particularly moved by imperfect love that in its own unique way is perfect, the notion of love at first sight, soul mates, and things that are generally out of the norm. When she's not writing she enjoys dabbling in photography and finding new, inspirational music to add to her collection. She currently (still) resides in the big shake (although her southern roots are calling her home) with her husband, daughter, and their two peculiar dogs, Boudreaux and Tabasco (who, call her crazy, bark with an accent). For lagniappe (a little extra), a virtual cup of café au lait and beignets, please visit Annie's website: www.annierosewelch.com She can also be found on Facebook & Twitter.

HASH(0x90a420cc) out of 5 stars Another work of art from Annie Rose Welch! 22 Feb. 2015
By Heather A - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
*Sniff* It’s over.

The final book in the Saving Angels series has been released.

I’m not ready to say goodbye to all of my friends I have made along the way.

Do we ever really say goodbye though?

That feels like a good way to start this review.

I’ve been reading this series since book one, Marigny Street. I have grown more and more attached to each of these characters as this became my favorite series I have ever read. Each book is a work of art from the cover to the words inside. Sparrow Way is no exception.

It may be my favorite book of the five. Each of these books has been a beautiful emotional journey for me, but I think that Sparrow Way managed to pull every shred of feeling that I have inside of me, from tears to laughter, I ran the gamut of the emotional spectrum.

It’s really hard to go into detail about the happenings in Sparrow Way because it would be so easy to give something away and this whole book to me relies on not knowing until you get to that moment.

There were moments that made my heart stop as I fell into the pages of this book. There were things that I didn’t see coming. There were times when I wanted to call Annie Rose Welch up (or hit her on Facebook) and say tell me this isn’t what is happening? I’m scared to go any further because this is where I am being led and I don’t want this to be so.

This is one of those books where you fall out of your own reality and get lost in the reality of Eva and Gabriel, their family and friends.

I cried more than once, tears streaming down my face as the book took one turn, then I would find myself laughing out loud as my children looked at me like I was crazy. The book, it’s the book.

Such an amazing read. When I get done reading a book by Annie Rose Welch, I have this feeling of being honored to be part of this world, if only for the time that I am reading. Her talent is amazing. The way she writes is so poetic, melodic, the highs and lows are perfectly written. I cannot wait to see what is coming next from Annie Rose Welch. She is absolutely one of my most favorite authors and one whose books I will never miss. She is a talent that I wish that everyone would find.

Thank you so very much for my copy of Sparrow Way, I will cherish it along with the rest of the series as I find time to reread all five books. So beautiful!

HASH(0x90a42120) out of 5 stars thoughts on sparrow way 16 Jan. 2015

This is a beautiful perfect way to end this series. I did not think that anything could come close to the brilliance of The Crossroads but I was clearly clearly wrong. This is a strikingly gorgeous, brilliantly written, hauntingly beautiful and poignant book that Annie Rose Welch has gifted us with. Yes this book is a gift. The most wonderful gift we can receive as a reader. This is the journey that a beautiful love is on. We see the life of Gabriel and Evangeline. We see when their relationship is at a crossroads due to insecurities and fear and it is delicately and realistically written. What makes this more beautiful is that these are the memories of Gabriel. He is telling them to a reporter. We see what love is, how it is nurtured and beautiful. How sacred and how we need to hold on to love with all that we are. It's about stopping to smell the roses. Their children tell us what they have learned from their parents and what role models they were. How they wanted to be like them and have a love like theirs. How without each other they weren't whole. That family and love is where we find ourselves and are at peace. In essence this interview this retelling of stories is Gabriel's way of saying goodbye to his loved ones. He is saying goodbye by teaching everyone one last concept and guiding them one last time through his stories and the love he and Evangeline had. Each moment we are privileged to read are poignant and sad. Beautiful and supportive. The writing of when Gabriel gets ill is poignant and realistic. The mistake of his son Noah is so real and amazing. We see that love can always be there through disappointments but can scare us sometimes. What makes this more beautiful is that this is how Gabriel sees his love for Evangeline playing out. How he sits under the tree and sings to her. How she completes him and supports him. How never ending their love is. Yet their life is just beginning together. We see their future told through Gabriel in a most poignant and beautiful manner. The delicacy of the details good and bad draw you in and wrap around you like a security blanket. We learn what it means when someone says love is eternal.

This is the story of a love that is endless, timeless and this emanates from the page and pours from the soul. A love that grows more infinitely with each day and moment. We see a love that is intimate, passionate and consuming. We see that Gabriel and Evangline's love is a compass for Gabriel and an anchor for her. A beautiful love that has the strength and support from the lovers who are best friends and each other's everything. His wife is his peace, his world and the one who calms and guides him. His best friend and lover. Evangeline is the only place where home is for Gabriel. The description of the wedding with fireflies is so so gorgeous and has you smile at its brilliance. The birth of Noah show sacrifice and joy.

This story is about a love that transcends time and life. Is hauntingly beautiful and inspirational. A strikingly gorgeous story of love and life. With each sentence Gabriel's love for Evangeline is felt and seen The feelings jump off the page and capture you in this beautifully written story of Gabriel and eva's life together and love for each other. The joy of their life had heartache and sadness but through it all they leaned on each other for support, strength and guidance.

We see how they complete each other and fill each other with joy and beauty. It is the journey of their life together in a story told by Gabriel. Each memory will wrap you up in a blanket of their love and have you feel safe in the warmth and moment and joy from the moment he is reliving. You are cocooned by their happiness and warmth and support of each other. Their story is timeless and powerful. It will have you believe in faith, joy and love. A book that should be treasured and read. A perfect poignant way to end this wonderful and amazing series.

HASH(0x90a3aa08) out of 5 stars Wonderful, emotional ending to a Beautiful Series!! 1 Jan. 2015
By Stephanie - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I knew as I was reading this book that this review would be almost impossible to write without giving away anything that happens in this book. Sparrow Way is the final book in the Savings Angels series. In a recent conversation I had with Ms. Welch, she admitted that she hadn’t planned on writing this book, but Gabriel had other ideas. And it’s apparent when you read this final book, it was a wonderful conclusion to this amazing series.

As in the other four books, the writing and details are exquisite. I felt as if I was transported there with her descriptive writing, especially in the bayou.

It is a wild place, teaming with creatures, filled with history. Out of the algae-fertile, whiskey-colored water rise cypress trees, like thin men. Their beards of Spanish moss – lice and chigger filled – dangle just above the water, unsung secrets ensconced. Scattered about are water oaks, and it almost seems as if their reflections in the water are making funny faces back at them. Alligators regularly pop up and down, creeping in the water, pushing aside the green slush as they make their way. Most of the time only their frog-like eyes are visible.

I thought this book was the most emotional of the series. I cried, but there were also some very funny moments as well.

And then I do something no man should ever do, or one who is not well versed in the kitchen should ever do. I get cocky. I use Eva’s fancy mixing machine. Even the crewmen have mashed potatoes in their hair afterward. Eva laughs so hard she starts to cry.

This is the ongoing story of Gabriel and Eva’s love. And what a wonderful love they have!

She’s not my soul mate; that description frightens me. We are what she has always said we were – wing mates. Supporting each other, being the other’s sense of direction when one was lost; the road leading to home. A certain heightened sense has been found through her.

And several chapters into this story, Ms. Welch does something that shocked me! Never in a million years would I have seen it coming, nor have I ever seen another author do this. Once I got past my shock and tears, it was understandable as I saw how this story played out.

I absolutely loved this book. I believe this was my favorite of the series though I loved them all. I enjoyed Gabriel’s POV. You will learn more about Eva and Gabriel’s life, as well as Layla’s and Michael’s. I’m extremely sad that this series is over and will honestly miss these characters whole-heartedly. This is a must read series! You will not be disappointed!!

She narrows her eyes at me “Oh darling, I know. I’m a whole lot of strange, and together, we are a whole bunch of crazy.” She giggles. “Come on!” she yells, grabbing my sleeve, pulling me toward the dance floor. “Let’s get it on!”

HASH(0x90a3af90) out of 5 stars Truly Unique 13 Jan. 2015

Have you ever picked up a book and knew the second you picked it up that you would never be the same after reading it? Knowing all other books like it would pale in comparison. That is exactly what Sparrow Way (actually the whole Saving Angels series) did to me. Reading this book and knowing that this love story would with stand the test of time and that no matter what would be thrown at Gabriel and Eva love would always prevail. I have had books that have touched my heart and I have loved several but few have touched my soul like Sparrow Way. I know that this book and the entire series will forever linger with in me. I can't tell you how many times I laughed and cried through this book as I rode the emotional roller coaster but I can say that Sparrow way (and the Saving Angels Series) as forever changed how I will view the romance genre. Anne Rose Welch you have a magic to your writing that is truly something unique. The way you are able to write something that can reach out and touch my soul was a true work of art. I can't thank you enough for this series. You truly have something special in you and I hope that it never fades. Sparrow Way is a wonderful book with a truly beautiful story. I encourage everyone to read this the Saving Angels Series I hope that it will touch your soul as it has mine.

I rec's an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest opinion. This is mousiey very honest opinion of her book. Sparrow Way is the conclusion of the series of this deletable and very delicious story of the love between Gabriel and Evangeline. This is Gabriel's story and he had to tell his story. Ms Welch had no intention of writing another book in the series after Crossroads. But Gabe just would not hush up. He insisted on speaking about his life.He recites his story to a reporter- speaking of their love- children-and the center of his heart. The truth that makes him tick. This is the most moving love story of all times!! It will have your heart tugging and wrapped up for the lovers. Having read all of Ms Welch's books in the series.I truly hated to see this magnificent love story come to an end. There has to be more of Gabe an Evangeline. There is such a thing as finding one's soulmate - an true love. Ms Welch wrote about right here in Sparrow Way. Gabe found his with Evangeline. I recommend this book for all readers! Mousiey gives a firm 60 out of 5 stars for this book!!!! NOW RUN AND GET YOUR COPY TODAY !!DO NOT DELAY
