This is the same tub and lid (with spoon) that comes with the lakeland yoghurt maker. The description as a bowl was a little confusing, I wanted to ensure I got the whole unit and not just a 'bowl'. Fear not, it is the full tub and lid that you can use to make a second batch of yoghurt. Perfect!

The spoon itself is a bit pointless and if anything gets in the way. I wouldn't want to use the spoon to dip into the yoghurt as you'd then have to immediately wash it before placing it back in the holder. Plus the holder doesn't fit very well for the spoon either. They should ditch the spoon altogether as most users will never ever want to use it. Other than that everything else works fine.

Perfect recipe is a couple of dessert spoons of skimmed milk powder, a couple of spoons of greek style yoghurt (I go for the stuff with some fat in), some UHT milk and about 10 hours of heat. You don't have to overly measure things out as it seems to work out no matter what. If you want it thicker just add more powder and yoghurt to get it started or leave it out longer. Another tip is to ensure you slowly mix the powder into the milk before adding the yoghurt otherwise you will end up with a gritty bottom and no one likes a gritty bottom.

Bought along with yoghurt maker as I will be using regularly from previous cultures so a spare jar is always there. Identical to the one supplied to the machine Arrived well within delivery schedule Thank you

If you want a continuous supply of fresh yoghurt, a replacement bowl is essential. It's cheap and identical to the original.

Probably the one item I have bought for my kitchen that is used regularly, makes lovely yoghurt and so simple to use.

The container is great, the spoon can get in ones way, but without it the lid wont stay in it's place. May be a screw top??

Spare bowl, just as good as the one that came with the machine. Very handy to have two.
