Not what I expected.

I was a bit put off by a previous poor review but decided to give it a try as it was a freebie. I am glad I did!
This is a well crafted love story set in space. Events build smoothly as well as logically.
The heroine is not too stupid to live. The hero is not an alpha-hole. In fact, they both come across as decent people that life had treated poorly. I found myself happy that they could resolve any difficulties and miscommunications fairly quickly. (I quit reading 'romances' years ago as I was unable to enjoy 200 pages of misery and suffering that could have been avoided by one 15 minute conversation.)
I have already downloaded book 2 and look forward to reading it.

I admit when I first started this book, I almost gave up. It seemed to be progressing slowly, however, I now realise Tegan's story needed to start that way. Tegan goes through transformative events and adventures that looking back at her beginning really makes you appreciate this authors detail. Its one of my favourite series.

This book is just so wonderful. The characters development and world building are staggering and I devour these books again each time a new one is released. The storyline and plot grow with more intrigue and the fantastical worlds are described so well it's as if you can hear the rocks sing and feel spider silk through you finger tips.

My rating is so low because the prose is pathetically simple. I painfully persevered to the end in the hope it might improve and the characters might start acting intelligently as befits a space faring people. This was more Mills and Boon than star trek. Sorry!

The heroine, Teagan, was a pleasant character and I sort of enjoyed reading to the end but the book was spoiled by rather two dimensional characters, undeveloped action/events and a terribly annoying writing style. Staccato sentences of I did this and I did that

It was all rather naively written in a manner one could imaging of a teenager who has potential but needs to learn to be a wordsmith.

Sadly disappointing and I will not be buying any more of her books.

Teagan is a great leading lady, she may not be super Alpha, but she has been through a lot and still bounces back and takes the chances given to her.
I love Yukhiyo!! He is the best guy any girl could wish for, and I love how he was with Teagan right from the start. I can't wait to see more from them both!
