Short Attention Span Summary (SASS):

1. NASA loses probe in wormhole
2. To account for losing the billion dollar probe, they plan to send a billion dollar space craft after it, piloted by a team of chimps
3. To get full media coverage, they decide to send a celebrity chimp, and since Lance Bass wasn't available, they choose Ham III (voiced by Andy Samberg)
4. Ham III is the grandson of Ham I (I bet you figured that out on your own), the first chimp in space, III being currently employed as a simian cannonball with a circus.
5. Ham III, Lt. Luna (Cheryl Hines), and Commander Titan (Patrick Warburton) become space chimps
6. Lots of monkey business follows as the intrepid team go boldly where no chimp has gone before, to an inhabited planet ruled by cold-hearted Dictator Zartog (Jeff Daniels)
7. This is actually a much better movie than it sounds

This underrated cartoon is actually a lot funnier than you'd think. The animation won't make Pixar lose any sleep, but is pretty good anyway, and the humor will tickle your funny bone without ever once resorting to lowbrow potty jokes. [Note: Beware of the puns]

Although not in the class of Wall-E or Finding Nemo, this is one that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Rated: 3.5 stars

I know I should hate this movie but I simply don't. Forgiving the, what looks like low rendering of the aliens, the movie was very entertaining. To me the alien scenes needed a couple more rendering passes to bring them up to scratch. Still good though.

This is a really good family film about a circus chimp that gets to go into space with some other dedicated chimps. They come to a planet with lots of weird aliens and a domineering leader that deals with anyone that crosses him. The film deals with making friends, and teaching each other about what is important in life. The funniest bit is where they call the humans at Houston for help and of course, all they hear is monkey noises! There are loads of different characters and it's not scarey at all. I have 3, 4, and 8 year olds, and we all love it.

Not many people I knoe have heard of this. it seems to have gone under the radar for a lot of families. It's a great little family movie, looks superb on Blu-Ray, does'nt have a lot of extras but has a lot of rewatch value.

A well made, funny film.

Like many 'kids' movies it has morals within the story. These include - putting so much garbage into space. How we treat other animals and (if it ever happens) meeting aliens - good and bad.

Overall the CGI and voice cast are adequate, but could have been better.

Another boy monkey meets girl monkey storyline. Surely there must be other areas of subject matter that films can be based around & then we wonder why there,s 7 billion of us on this planet!
