The Walsh's are a group of architectural siblings, who, after their mother died when they were young, sided together against their crazy, psychotic father, so they're really close, with the exception of a sister who works away.
This is the eldest brothers story, Patrick, and his new apprentice, Andy, (that's a girl btw). There's an instant attraction but neither want to pursue it...messed up backgrounds, age difference, boss/employer ratio and so on. But...they do get it on! The sex scenes are frequent...and hot!!! Obviously, true love never runs smoothly so there's a few secrets and hitches along the way.
It's written in the f/m pov, with some quirky humour, bad language and kinky sex. Full length and lots of secondary characters for future books.
Although I did enjoy the book the main characters were a little frustrating...he's 35, nine years older, but towards her acted like a virgin teenager, (until they were having sex!). And she was a major tease, hooking him in then pushing him away.
Overall it was a good dirty,(in places,) read.
"I received this book from ebook discovery in exchange for an honest review."
Once Patrick and Andy (see, it looks like you’re talking about two men lol) get it on, that’s all they do! Page after page and chapter after chapter of shagging constantly. Now I like my books a little raunchy, and I must say Ms Canterbary can write a damn good sexy scene, but I feel the sex was padding for the lack of story.
However, despite those two little niggles, this was an enjoyable read. There’s less unnecessary descriptions in this book compared to the first book, which meant the book flowed much better. The POV changes were smooth and it was nice to read what was going on in each of their heads.
I enjoyed their text exchanges, some were quite funny.
All in all, I would consider this a standalone as you don’t have to have read the first book to know what’s going on in this book and that makes a change to actually read a story in it’s entirety rather than serials or trilogies.
I was drawn to this story, because both characters were architects. In the first book we met Patrick and he came off as this serious architect that didn't mess around. I couldn't wait to get in his head, and man was the wait worth it. I was in love with Patrick from the start, but Andi, oh man, Andi I loved her even more. I felt so in tune with her it was almost scary.
Andi with her love of food trucks and brilliant architecture, was not your normal romance book heroine, and that is what made me love her even more. She had an attitude, she had trust and control issues, but mainly she was herself and that to me is the best part of the book.
Patrick, poor Patrick, was so completely sunk over Andi he didn't know what to do with himself when she didn't act or respond how he thought she would. He had trouble with the age difference in that he knew what he wanted and was ready to settle and she was just out of school and not quite there.
Overall I loved the two together. They balanced each other out in the most perfect ways and neither were without their quirks and flaws and this made the story for me. As much as I loved each separately I loved them together more.
