Truly a perfect game from start to finish. Stick of Truth is crammed with so many in-show references that you would definitely need multiple playthroughs to discover them all. The town is fairly expansive but you get the hang of the layout quite quickly and the turn-based combat system is easy to understand, and progresses in detail as the game goes on. The only downside is that if you're getting a non-PC version for Europe, then a fair few sections of the game have been censored out and replaced with a title card explaining what happens, but that can't be faulted to the developers, rather the censors.
It is a little light on content for an RPG, if you don't bother with side quests and collectables you can finish it in less than a day. However, it is just like playing through an extended episode of South Park. You can really tell Matt and Trey were heavily involved in this. It is very heavy with in jokes and references. It is still hilarious even if you haven't watched any South Park (as long as you are into that kind of humour). The (4) censored scenes are probably only around 2% of the game, and the text describing what was censored is still quite funny. The combat mechanics are also quite simple and forgiving, even on hard mode, but I think this game assumes you are playing to see the jokes, rather than be challenged.
With this game coming out on Xbox Backwards Compatible, I thought it was a good time to give it a try, and its brilliant. Its a well balanced combination of a good old RPG and the outrageous humour of South Park. Very enjoyable game that will make you laugh a lot!
South Park and the stick of truth is a surprisingly good turn based rpg. It lasts around 20 hrs and feels like you are taking part in a long and well done episode of the classic series. Nothing negative to say other than the short length, considering rpg games in general.
Great Game, especially for long time fans. Game is also backwards compatible for Xbox One (Xbox 360 Version) so you can play it on the Xbox One. Would recommend this game to friends and even people who aren't fans of the show.
