It's fun, the game will keep you giggling (even after Ubisoft censored loads of the funny parts in the European version).
However after the initial thrill, the Cartman model and the map don't really justify the extra expense, especially with the DLC that is being released that costs extra on top of the game.
Totally my decision and I accept any blame that Southpark fanboys may want to point my way, but having purchased the special edition, I think I'd have been equally happy with just the game.
The game is hilarious and easy to learn and play, the achievements will make you cry with laughter and the dialogue is spot on.
You start off by designing your own character, the "new kid", and learning how to battle in typical South Park fashion, with Cartman as your guide. The battle system is straight forward - the game is very much a turn-based RPG, and reminded me of Paper Mario or Costume Quest. It's simple enough, but there's plenty of items to collect, loads of sides-quests and an incredibly detailed town to explore.
The game is incredibly funny, too. South Park has never been just toilet humour. The gross-out, over the top, "shocking" stuff is there, but that's not what makes South Park great. Stick of Truth is overloaded with parody, and I particularly enjoyed the tongue-in-cheek digs at various video-game tropes. In the console version there are certain elements that are censored, but I feel like I might have enjoyed the tongue-in-cheek "censored" screens more than the over-the-top stuff, and certainly don't feel I missed anything important.
If you don't like South Park, you should probably stay away. But if you're a fan, I would urge you to pick this game up, even if you're not normally one for turn-base RPGs.
the game I played a while back on the ps3 and loved it if you like the tv show then you will love this at times its like your watching a actual episode of southpark all the humour and voice actors are there aswell as characters like mr hanky and mr slave i dont think anyone was left out its probably the best tv/ game cross over ive ever played.
the cartman figure is well made and quite detailed and is best left in the box as the package contains some nice artwork the map is also quite funny go buy it.
the fan service of the game is incredible, everywhere you look and search is choc full of easter eggs. every south park character you can think of appears in the game or atleast makes refference to them. you can even pick up junk of things that have appeared in episodes, such as poop and tonnes of other things i cant mention.
the set pieces that the game throws at you are Hilarious, this game has laugh out loud moments, but also soo many cringe moments that are funny too. the amount of outfits and weapons available can rival any RPG, they are all pieces that have appeared in the tv series.
the story is based around the war between elves and soldiers, with your character being portrayed with a hidden ability of Dova'hkin. this games sounds and story is taken partly from Skyrim which is funny.
the miniature cartman is nice, yet small, but is fine and nothing particularly to complain about. the DLC is very good with the outfits and will help you in battle for about half of the game. so its worth a purchase. very happy with this game and must reccomend it.
