These rolls have recently replaced an earlier version of the product, and are a significant step backwards in my experience. Specifically, only one side of the bags is now embossed, the other plain. The embossing allows the machine to suck air out of the bag, and when very low pressure is detected, the machine seals the bag. The non-embossed side is on the inside in these rolls and tends to get rather scrunched up with many wrinkles, right across the roll. When one of these wrinkles is near the end of a bag that you wish to vacuum seal, usually it detects low pressure and seals the bag long before it should; I have wasted a lot of plastic in this way. Why not roll them with the embossed side on the inside -- that might cure this problem.
I have been told by the company that these new bags "cost us nearly double to manufacture". Extra cost clearly does not guarantee higher quality and the shoddy boxes the rolls now come in compared to the previous robust ones, makes me question whether money is being spent in the right places. A great pity, as this company's other products that I use regularly are excellent.

Great Product. This is a repeat order and I find all the bags and "tubes" have been great so far.Published 19 months ago by billtheray
