May one hope that this isn't the second book of a trilogy?
I, for one, won't be buying a third. Woody Allen did all this so much better in the 70's....the genre is now declared redundant.
This book looks at life after HTLFAAP and it doesn't disappoint, it follows Toby on his book tour and his experiences with family and friends.. the humour and typical Toby style writing are there.
.... Simon Pegg is rumoured to be playing Toby in a forthcoming film of the book, give the Casting Director a medal.
I loved this book even though I hadn't got around to watching How to Lose Friends. I read it in two sittings. It made me laugh and cry. The chapters about his marriage were very insightful and reminded me a bit of She's Having a Baby - Kevin Bacon film. Not to be missed.
However, I just got the feeling he was looking for disasters to happen so that he could write about them. There is also a smugness to this book which does not appeal. Together with his name dropping, I don't think I will looking out for any further offerings.
Having said that, it is an easy read, but I was glad to finish it!
