5.0 out of 5 stars Great Mix for a Good Cause 1 Oct. 2013
By Margaret Sutherland - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I'm a sucker for animal welfare and bought this reasonably-priced anthology as a supportive gesture. Quite frankly, the high standard of the collection surprised and delighted me. The various authors are clearly professionals in their own genres, and brought their skills to stories featuring cats or dogs. First-person accounts by pets reversed the usual human/animal dynamics in a very amusing way in a few of the stories, and an outstanding opener described a feral cat's take on life in an unsentimental and non-judgmental acceptance of the way life is. Having just endured the trauma of losing a life-long pet myself, I'm pleased to relate there are no heart-breakers of the ilk of 'Marley and Me.' No graveyard scenes, thank goodness. Life is hard enough! I think all the writers should be commended for not only supporting an international animal charity with this book, but also performing to the high standards achieved. 4.0 out of 5 stars A mixed bag of stories for animal lovers 15 Oct. 2013

These varied greatly from the amazing to the so-so. Worth reading for the story about the feral cat, alone. And worth supporting.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Cute Collection 9 April 2014
By A. Brantley - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is such a cute collection of stories and a must for any animal lover! Best of all, you're supporting a good cause. What more could a book/pet lover ask for? It also has some of the best authors. Buy a copy for yourself and give copies as gifts. The more help for this wonderful cause, the better!

Carole Nelson Douglas is one of my regular authors, and it was interesting to compare styles. I bought the book since it was compiled by Carole to benefit rescue, one of my causes.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Read 2 Oct. 2013

Each story is totally different than the others so the whole book is fascinating. Mostly told by the animal involved. Often funny but also thought provoking.
