In fact, the only thing I don't like about it is it has so many buttons for radio, alarm 1, alarm 2, etc., that if I want to change something at night without turning the lights on, I never can find the right button. I keep hitting buttons which makes it give an annoying beep. The easy answer to that is, turn the light on! <grin>
I'm neither bragging nor complaining when I say I've become an expert on sound machines. I think I have 5 or 6 different brands. I think it's getting to be a hobby, but these things are great for sleeping!
This is my all-time favorite, even though I combine it with 2 other sound machines, white noise, etc., when the noise outside is really loud. I use it when sleeping and when reading, especially during the summer when all the neighbors are out mowing their lawns with REALLY big lawn mowers. This is supposed to be the quiet countryside, but with geese squawking, a neighbor's lonely dog barking, neighbors mowing, cows bellering or whatever it is they do, a sound machine really is nice. Any small outside noise makes my dog bark, but the sound machine limits the sounds that he thinks are threatening. I want, for example us to hear someone trying to break in or sirens during tornado season.
I have my favorite sounds for different purposes. For sleep, for instance, I sure don't want to hear crickets chirping. In fact, I NEVER want to hear crickets. Birds sounds are great for the daytime for reading, relaxing, etc., but unnatural at night. That just seems abnormal. Birds don't chirp all night. "Space" sounds are great for reading, but all-out spooky for sleeping. I love "Wind" but it gives me a headache by itself all night long. Combined with thunderstorm, it's very relaxing, as long as I don't turn it up so loud that it sounds like the house is blowing down.
I do love waterfalls, and that sound is useful to drown out the loudest of noises. The one I use the most is the Hidden Cove, with the Thunderstorm along with it. I love the fact that you can combine the sounds and come up with one of your own. Note that you can only combine some of the sounds and then only with 1 other sound. You can't combine 3 at once. I'm wondering why they decided to allow the 'loon' sound as one that can be combined. Why would anyone want to hear, well, we all have our favorites and least favorites. That's another thing I love about this sound machine. It has so many options. One of them just has to be your cup of tea.
At any rate, I love this product. If and when it eventually breaks, I'll buy another one. I've had it several years now and have had no problems with it.
I absolutely love it. We have a train a bit away and it always wakes my husband.
By playing the train on this nightly, he's less likely to be disturbed by the occasional real-life train.
There are sooo many settings, and options.
NOTE: Whenever there's a power surge or power outage, it's a pain to reset.
You need to use a paperclip to press the reset button, and then reset the time, etc.
