About the Author
Born in England of British, Scottish and Danish descent, Navyo Ericsen has travel and adventure in his blood. His Danish ancestor, Hans Halmøe Erichsen, was on the USS Jeannette Polar Expedition to the arctic -- the only Dane on an American ship. Only a handful survived. In 1890, each of the crew was awarded a congressional medal for bravery. The silver medal posthumously awarded to Hans has been handed down to Navyo and is a constant reminder of his heritage. But it wasn’t always that way. With a training in classical music, his life has been filled with creativity that includes classical violist, rock musician, audio engineer, record producer, independent filmmaker and graphic designer. It is only later in life he has found writing and photography a means of creative expression and, most importantly, a means of sharing his adventures. At the age of twenty-two, he traveled to India to meet the enlightened master Osho -- a meeting that changed the course of his life. Learning meditation and the decades spent exploring the inner world have given him a keen insight into the human condition. He has since been around the world twice and visited more than fifteen countries and counting. Based in Marin County, California since 1998, he now spends much of his time in Europe which provides the settings for his travelogues and photographs. Navyo uses travel as a means of connection, education and discovery, immersing himself in the local language, customs and culture and integrating into community life. His current travels have taken him from Scotland to Sicily, from Copenhagen to Crete and the many places in between. But it is Italy with its diverse regions, rich history and culture, laid-back lifestyle, mouthwatering food and most of all its people that has captured his heart. Soul Traveler: Taking the Jump, is his first book and the first in a series documenting his European adventures. Navyo is a regular contributor to Osho News online magazine. His previous literary work is the screenplay, Buddha’s Wife, an adaptation of the historical novel he co-wrote with its author, Gabriel Constans. He has one daughter, Phoebe, and one granddaughter, Ava May. NavyoEricsen.com Facebook.com/NavyoEricsenWriter

I’ve had my own fantasies of just taking off for a long period of time and seeing where the wind takes me, but I’ve never acted on it.
Navyo’s book was an opportunity to explore this kind of lifestyle and adventure vicariously through him. Thanks Navyo
