Maggie is coming to terms with how much her life has changed, and at the prospect of becoming a Guard.
She;s finished it difficult to think properly with Jackson constantly hanging around her, she doest' want to remember her awful past, her human life, but Jackson, can't seem to let it go.
With Ally finally transitioning into the Prognatum successfully, then soul taker's can carry on as normal, obviously this is short lived until the next downfall commences.
Ally, Maggie, Cooper & Jackson, have been given a mission to complete as a group. This is a first for Maggie, as she tends to work alone.
With the goings on around them Maggie, is finding it difficult to stop her feelings from growing towards to luminous Guard Jackson....
Can she be with him again?
Is he on the right side?
To be honest? I'm kind of routing for Maggie & Copper to "Hook Up"
You are taken on another magical journey, where friend's become close, families are re-kindled.
There are many twists and turns along the way and Maggie has to go through a lot of surprises, heartache and hurt as she attempts to uncover the truth. Her "TRUE" heritage...
Throughout this mission, Maggie is secretly carrying out her own, can she prove her worth after all?
I HATED the ending! I did NOT see that coming.....well a certain part I did, but not the other (Yes I know I'm being cryptic, but I don't want to spoil it:)
Some people said it dragged in the middle, with me, I wouldn't say it dragged, they were a few niggly bits, but it didn't drag for me, but hey, it's different for everyone :)
I can't wait for the 3rd book to come out.
I'm soooo FULL of questions, that I NEED answering?
Can Maggie trust anyone any more?
Is it all worth the heartache?
Will Maggie & Cooper get their "FREAK ON"?
Have the Celeste been lying to everyone?
The book is full of twists and turns and is very well written. The characters are vibrant and jump off the page. The book was very fast paced although the middle did drag a bit for me personally. And the ending...well...let's just say everyone will be eager for the next installment! We're left wondering what's a lie and who Maggie can really trust.
Maggie goes through a fair bit of character growth in this installment and it's so easy to sympathize with her and really feel for her. There's lots of Jackson in this book, and i'm sure Cooper fans will be sad to know there's not as much from him in this book. All the characters are very realistic, and brought to life through the many dimensions to them.
The romance of the book was cute, and there was plenty of action mixed in with it. I did manage to guess a few things, but others I was left guessing until the end! Aside from the draggy part in the middle the book had good flow. The world created by Duncan is hard to leave, and I for one just couldn't put the book down!
I don't think fans of the first book are going to be disappointed by this sequel, but they will be cursing Katlyn for the cliffhanger at the end!
Following her traumatic time during her last mission, Maggie is now on her way to fulfilling her dream of becoming a Guard. She is in constant training mode with Jackson trying to hone her skills.
Jackson and Maggie are chosen for a very special mission, but they are not going to be alone. They are sent on this mission with Ally and Cooper in what should be a straightforward mission. But, of course, nothing is ever straightforward is it?
Maggie is given a secret mission which she is physically unable to share with anyone. This makes things quite difficult for her as she struggles to deal with her feelings not only for Jackson but someone else.
There are many twists and turns along the way and Maggie has to go through a lot of surprises, heartache and hurt as she attempts to uncover the truth.
I was lucky enough to read this book as an ARC and I must thank the author for the opportunity. She has once again written a book which drew me in very quickly and had me reading the whole thing in one session!
The author leaves us with quite an ending to this book, one which has me even more desperate for the next one! She has set it up so we don't know what is truth and what is lies. Can Maggie really trust those she is closest to or should she disbelieve everything she has been told?
Whatever happens next it is obvious that Maggie's life is going to change, possibly not in a good way, and she will need to go through even more in the future. Bring it on!
