Sophie Wellstood's fiction was first published in Stories for Homes, vol 1., ed. Debi Alper and Sally Swingewood. Since then she has been placed in a number of national and international prizes, including being longlisted for the 2016 Bath Award.
Her story 'The First Hard Rain' was a finalist in the £10,000 Manchester Fiction Prize, 2016, and is included in the acclaimed Best British Short Stories 2017, ed. Nicholas Royle, pub. Salt.
In 2016 her debut novel won Triskele Books Big 5 competition and was shortlisted for the 2017 Caledonian Novel Award.
Forthcoming publications include include a story in the anthology Stories for Homes vol. 2 (ebook release 28th Sept. 17, paperback Nov 2017). Her novel 'Colour Me In' is due for publication 2018.
She lives in west London.
