    I dont usually give 5 stars, but in this case only because of the sound quality and the impressive soundstage. Was surprised that they dont fall easily like many other in ear headphones. Going into a bit more into the sound quality, the mids seems a bit muddy for my taste, but overall has a very well balanced sound, bass is on point, highs are good but not harsh, so compare with other in ear headphones I have, so far these are the best. I own RHA 750 and a Momentum, these Sony deliver better and more natural sound, no EQ needed, and the soundstage considering are in ear, is amazing.
    Build quality, a bit let down only bring one cable, and doesnt seemto be the best quality for what you pay. I have to hold some months to give my opinion on build quality....

    These are undoubtedly the best headphones i have ever bought!
    Pros:
    -They fit well and have a wide variety of tips.
    -Detachable cables meaning we can replace the cable in-case of damage.
    -Amazing sound quality.
    -Very good noise cancellation.

    Cons:
    -The cables make a lot of noise when they hit your body and this can be heard when listening to music. I recommended you put the up your top to keep them tight to your body for minimal movement.
    -The case they supply is awful for a top of the range pair of headphones. (a small fabric pouch)

    I would consider myself an audiophile and own several pairs of headphones including Bose, Shure, Sennheiser, Bluedio and now these Sony's. I wouldnt normally opt for Sony however based on budget (everyday use so set it at £200), reviews and look I purchased these and took delivery yesterday. Firstly, packaging didnt impress and lacked quality. The pouch provided for housing the headphones is poor and compared to the home my £100 momentum's came in very poor, I know this isnt the "maker" but first impression and all that! You get a small square synthetic black non zipped pouch with no separate compartments for storage.

    Secondly, and more importantly, the sound. Straight out of the box and connected up to my S7 I played Ray LaMontagne - Homecoming, and was truly impressed with the depth of sound and the clarity of vocal. I switched between these and my momentums to see which i preffered and I was unsure. The Sony's deliver real depth of sound, full bodied, rich and fine separation of lows and highs however clarity was lacking somewhat whereas the momentums were delivering a louder punchier sound, I am rationalising the Sony's need time to break in just as my momentums did and I am hugely impressed by the vocal clarity which does trump the momentums quite easily.

    Style wise, very nice and the left or right are clearly marked. Cabling, which is detachable, seems robust enough however only time will tell but these do provide the option of buying new cabling, when, not if, these wear out.

    I am happy with the phones without being blown away on day 2 however like all phones they will take time to bed in with the early signs being very promising!!

    For the price, sound and style I might have made a great decision to go with these Sony's................

    I sometimes find it rather difficult. reviewing earphones & headphones. It sometimes feels as though what 'you' hear could be a bit subjective and different to what I am hearing. It also could be down to personal preference. So with that in mind I shall do my best.

    The XBA-N1AP have just been released at £150.00 (Oct 2016) along side their more expensive brother, the XBA-N3AP. So after having these since release, I will review the N1AP.

    I am pairing this with the A15 Walkman using high bit rate .flac and .mp3s and various styles of music.

    The look:

    They arrived in a lovely simple black box which opens like a book. Inside you have the left and right earphones neatly on display with the cable tucked nicely behind the material cushion that the earphones rest on. You also have some spare earbuds in various sizes mounted on show and a little pocket carry case. Behind all this is your technical jargon and user guide and another bag of spare earbuds. So a simple but elegant presentation upon first viewing.

    The earphones themselves have a polished chrome finish to them, not bright chrome mind, a hint of gunmetal is there and the finish is superb.

    They don't really look like my conventional earphones, this is due to the drum like shape housing the hybrid drivers. I thought they looked kind of weird from the pictures online, but after seeing them they look pretty nice.

    I was also worried because I have seen pictures where the cable meets the driver housing (you can replace/ upgrade cables) looked like a bit of a poor fit. But I can confirm that everything fits flush and neatly.    Read more ›

    Best earphones I had in a long time. I had headphones from pretty much every brand out there,returned bose new wireless noise cancelling earphones then got sennheiser M2 which were just horrible. Was going to go back the Sony xba a1 and saw these and love them would highly recommend to anyone
