I'm very happy with the band, it came with 2 different sizes of wrist strap which was good, but honestly, if you put the clasp indents far enough along the strap you'd only ever need 1 (it is worn like an inside out belt with the clasp on the inside, this is good as it doesn't catch on clothes). Although I have nothing to compare it to, i know the distances i walk to work and it seems to be measuring steps/distance correctly. I haven't setup the custom stride length on the app which is a good feature to have, but with the results speaking for themselves i don't think it's needed to change from the auto settings.
The band does need to be quite snug for you to record the full day's heartbeat measurements, I get some empty patches where I've probably pushed it away in an odd direction while at work etc. On normal settings it reads heartrate every 15 minutes, notified by a green light under the sensor. If you can see this is probably means it was too far from your arm to tell the rate and you will have a gap in the results. There is also an "active"/sports mode which it says is for running/swimming, any intensive exercising you'd like to be more closely monitored, this then ups the polling rate and takes measurements more often.
I fear that all these monitoring bands should have much longer lifespan. On the page it says the stamina mode makes the band last 5 days, i have not tested this, but i can say that it can easily do 48 hours or more on normal mode which is the average for similar wearables. For those wondering, stamina mode is when the heart monitoring sensor is turned off. This seems to be a big drain on the battery, halving the life when on even though it is used only every 15 minutes...
I would have liked to have the option of different band colours, which ARE available from 3rd party sellers but I am quite utilitarian and won't be going out of my way for a specific colour.
Overall this band is very useful with the mentioned lifelog app, but it is far from a sports band. Most others you see in that category have altitude and more advanced speed measurements and settings, and have software for more advanced calorie counting, including intake vs exercise. On the other hand, because of the simplicity of the band itself without a screen, it has a much higher waterproof rating than other bands. The fitbit charge for example is only splashproof, but there is no problem keeping this on in the shower.
The price of £80 is again average for what it does, it matches some of the med-high market of full sports bands which it does not fall under the name of. This band is more of a tracker than sporting gear, so i would have hoped it would be more in the region of £10/£15 cheaper.

Connects to the android phone with no issue at all, and doesn't effect anything else paired by bluetooth. I.e. I can have it connected, and pair a bluetooth speaker and play music through the speaker while controlling it via my watch. It also allows calls via the bluetooth in car function while still attached to the phone/watch which is great and was one of my concerns with the cheaper watches out there.
The general use of the watch is so easy, its similar to a smart phone, swiping, tapping etc. No confusing menus and even comes with tutorials for its use as well. It automatically syncs the apps on your phone once you connect and download android wear on your phone which makes life easier for the setup. It also came with 100% charge so I could use it out of the box (once setup) although this first charge does go down quicker than normal.
It is comfortable to wear, the black sports band is comfy and easily adjustable to fit. The watch part pops out nicely to enable charging although the charge port is tough to uncover but i would expect that from a dust and waterproof (supposedly) watch. Used for a few days now and it hasn't disconnected from my phone once.
Highly recommend. It is worth spending a little more on items such as these for their improved quality and usability.
My only gripe with this watch is the strap. The rubber strap that comes as standard doesn't look great to begin with, but then the rubber corners started to rub away exposing the sharp metal frame underneath. Even though Sony said they would being out a watch holding kit, they never did so you can't just put a normal strap on the watch (unless you buy an unbranded one from the internet - I got one from shapeways for $14).
Also, unlike the iwatch, this watch holds its value. I purchased it Nov 2014 at £136 and it's still about the same price now two and a half years later...
Unfortunately doesn't have heart rate sensor but anyway, I don't need this sensor. .. it's simple and works very nice - can offer all funcionalities that we really need in this kind of gadget (all notifications, google now and fit, gps, wifi, calls, msgs, etc etc etc).
Seems a small smartphone with very good feeling.
