2 channel system for up to 20 W of power
Get 20 W of powerful sound from a 2 ch speaker system. Two full-range speakers deliver balanced stereo sound across high, mid and low frequencies. So you can enjoy your music in clear, powerful audio, whatever the volume.
Bluetooth connectivity for easy music streaming
Based on radio waves, Bluetooth technology allows you to make a quick, short-range wireless connection that won’t be interrupted by objects in the signal path. Once paired, you’re free to stream all of your favourite content – including movies, pictures, and music – from your smartphone or tablet to a compatible device.
ClearAudio+ for clarity and sharpness
Unique to Sony, ClearAudio+ automatically adjusts sound settings for an enriching listening experience. Hear every note with greater clarity and separation, whatever music you’re into. By bringing together expertise in digital signal processing technologies, ClearAudio+ optimises audio formats to deliver a consistently clear, high-quality sound.
“Sound mode” delivers a wider sound stage
Audio quality isn’t compromised by this speaker’s size. Press the “Sound mode” button to boost power output and realise a wider sound stage.
One-touch listening via NFC for instant streaming
Near Field Communication (NFC) technology removes the need for wired connections and complex set-up sequences. Simply touch your NFC-enabled device to the on-body N-mark for a quick, seamless connection, then start streaming content via Bluetooth. No NFC? No problem. You can also connect and stream directly via Bluetooth.
Built-in microphone for hands free calling
When you need to pause the party to take a call, use the speaker, not your phone. A built-in microphone lets you divert calls from your smartphone straight to your speaker using Bluetooth connectivity. So you can make and answer calls without having to disconnect your phone from the speaker.
Audio input for wired music playback
It’s simple to play tunes from an iPod or digital music player with a wired audio input. Just plug an AUX IN cable (supplied separately) into the jack located on the rear panel of the speaker, to hear your music play louder than if you were just listening through your smartphone.
Compact, portable design
Listen at home, in the park, or on the move. Weighing only 500 g and measuring 55 x 58 x 170 mm, this lightweight portable speaker body is designed for those who live life on the go. A rechargeable battery and wireless streaming technologies mean you can grab the speaker and go anywhere with your music, without wires getting in the way.
Rechargeable battery with up to 5 hours’ playback

What can I say.
My friend has the Dre Beats Pill, basically the more expensive small speaker out there, and this wipes the floor with it.
The bass is incredible, especially for a speaker this small, and the Bluetooth functionality is excellent (no loss of connection at all). Would definitely recommend.
p.s. the picture attached shows the size of the speaker in comparison with a PS4 controller. It's hard to visualise the actual size of the speaker looking at the picture Sony has used.

Upon opening the box up for the first time you realise how compact the Sound SRS-X2 is. Measuring just 16.5cm x 5.5cm x 5.5cm, the speaker really is a very portable piece of audio equipment that's ideal for taking away with you.
Aesthetically speaking, the speaker looks basic but nevertheless modern and quietly contemporary. The main body of the speaker is constructed from a coated metal that has a soft scratch-free protective quality to its surface. The front-face of the speaker is simply a black metal mesh which allows the sound to penetrate through without any hindrance.
Connecting the speaker up with your audio device (whether it's a phone, tablet or whatever) is an absolute doddle. It's just a simple case of pairing the device using Bluetooth, and you'll be connected up within seconds - literally.
The sound quality that the speaker provides is pretty darn good. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that for the very reasonable pricetag, the quality of sound it reproduces is excellent. There's plenty of depth of bass, definition and nice clarity to the notes without any unpleasant amalgamation of sound. Furthermore, acoustic notes have a certain amount of warmth to them, however they do lose hints of naturalness to the tail ends of strung-out notes (particularly noticeable on latter Alcest albums, Devin Townsend's 'Ghost' etc).
Volume-wise, you won't believe what this miniature-beast can pump out.Read more ›
The speaker tested was in white and it is a little smaller than expected but the key functions make it easy to use and pair up to any bluetooth device. Externally it's attractive to look at and comfortable to carry around and it measures at 16.5cm x 5.5cm x 5.5cm. The front is a simple grille and overall I like the minimal fuss design.
Pairing is easy. Once your device is on and ready to match, the Sony SRS-X2 quickly finds it and then the music comes through. Once paired it remembers the device to save having to set up and pair all over again.
Controls on the top are:
- bluetooth pairing
- Volume up and down (press and hold)
- Sound - Enhances the sound by adjusting the equalizer balance to provide more mid/up range
- Phone to direct your conversation through the speaker
I tester the speaker against various genres and found nothing to report except praise, it pumps the sound out and whilst not large room filling is perfect for small/medium rooms (party use), personal listening and outdoors for bbq's, beach, on the balcony etc. I found on heavy bass dance tracks when the volume was pushed there was some slight distortion, but it would be unlikely you would need to push the speaker to that volume.
Charging provides two options via a micro - USB lead or via the mains and I persoanlly found the battery died after about 4 and 3/4 hours of repeat radio listening, so slightly shorter than the 5 hours stated.
The SRS-X2 also allows you to pair your smart phone and direct the conversation through it.Read more ›
The bass is very good and medium frequencies are good as well, and it has a very clear sound that you can't find probably in most of the speakers around this price. It could be an incredible speaker if that treble problem would be corrected, i would give 5 stars, but right now it hurts too much xD
I bought the JBL Charge recently and needed a new bluetooth speaker for the kitchen so opted for Sony with its reputation and I have not been dissapointed.
First of all, this unit is much smaller than I imagined. It really fits onto the hand and, although it is quite weighty, it takes up so little room. It comes in a fairly shoddy little felt bag with Sony embossed but it will keep the dust out.
Pairing was a doddle, within 10 seconds. It can be paired either by pushing the Pair button on the speaker or just by switching it on and picking it from the iPhone bluetooth menu.
So, to the all important sound. I was completely blown away by the sound quality. The bass is much richer than the JBL charge and goes just as loud. Vocals are sharp and there is only the smallest hint of bass distortion at full volume. For such a small unit, this is really amazing.
The volume can be altered on the unit as well as on the iPhone and the range is good, going from room to room without any break up of sound.
It comes with a Micro USB charger with european and UK plug attachments. So many more applianced are Micro USB charged that holidays become much less complicated.
It takes about 3 hours to charge and mid volume charge lasts for about 4 hours.
I have no complaints at all. The sound is MUCH better than the JBL charge and it is significantly smaller. Charging is easy with the charger provided. If I had to chose between the three docks I own, this Sony wins hands down. no question. For the money, this is a remarkable piece of kit. Go for it!!Read more ›
