Got these babys for Christmas off me girlfriend..had a few days playtesting them before they get wrapped up.. these wireless phones are very very good indeed..Bf3 blew me away..tried them with uncharted 3 and a few others aswell..the virtual 7.1 is very convincing..bassimpact works better when kept low.. sound is stunning with these Sonys! I was going to get turtle beach px5s but one of me mates is on his second pair in 8 months and lots more people seem to have problems with build quality with beachs.. These Sonys seem to be very well made and comfort is very good for me with these pulses some others on net say bit tight and headband not padded enough..i agree with padding on top..but I have a shaved head lol..battery life could be better..getting about 4 hours with bassimpact on..Sony should of supplied a charge cable same one as ya ps3 pad..just a small point not enough to lose a star thou..plugged them into me ipod with supplied cable and OMG sound better than me akg 480nc phones and me other half agrees..dre beat solos get well hammered by me akgs so I think sony have done wonders here..if you have a ps3 its a no brainer! plus you can use them in passive mode on trains and planes with ipads and vitas and lots of other stuff and wont look like a dork with these sexy looking phones on and you wont bother people sat next to you as not much sound leaks from these cans!..buy and enjoy them.. well done sony!! 5 well diserved stars!! now to have one more play before I have to give them up till xmas :(

I'm a very apprehensive buyer. I scour reviews constantly when it comes to expensive gadgets for which there are many options. Even the smallest smattering of 1-3* reviews in a sea of 5* reviews put me off. For once, I just bit the bullet here and was so glad I did, and you'll be glad you did.

The sound on these is unbelievably fantastic, especially considering the £100, which really isn't all that much when considering the cost of headphones can rise to upward of £500!!!

I've used these primarily with GTA V and it made all those explosive scenes so much more fulfilling. Cruising through the city and hearing all the little sounds as well as the main audio at the forefront really is a pleasure.

What's more, these work for far more than just gaming. Wanna watch a Blu-ray? Use these, the sound is equally as incredible. Want to listen to your music from your laptop or PC? Just plug the dongle into a USB port, let plug n play take care of the driver in about 15 seconds, then enjoy instant wireless sound, and believe me, music sounds phenomenal through these, whether it be the melodic majesty of prog rock or the thumping bass of metal.

One complaint I do have is the battery power. I can't let it take away from the 5* rating because the sound really is that great, but it's still an annoyance that it seems to last 3-4 hours from fully charged. It takes a little away from the wireless aspect because sometimes I play longer than that, or I've forgotten to charge them, and then they resort to being wired because I have to charge them while playing. A rich person's solution might be to make like PS3 (and soon PS4) controllers and have two, so you can charge one while using the other, but back to reality...

**UPDATE**
Right then. I had to go through 2 of these and then find out that they are unfortunately not as great as I had hoped. An almost spot on headset has been ruined buy the fact that (even if you treat it like a baby) it will crack at the sides. Everyone I know that has purchased this headset has had the same issue. I had it twice. They also stopped connecting after a while of snapping from the sides. It's a shame that Sony went witch cheap materials for this headset... I'm going to miss them.

Let me just start by saying I won't be buying a new headset or headphones anytime soon. I'm a constant Skyper and sometimes I need to leave the room, I love the fact that I can now go to the kitchen and make some food while still Skyping with my friends. It just makes everything much easier.

I used to have a separate headset for my computer, one for my PS3 and one for my (Android) phone and Vita. Having a headset that works with every one of those makes my life much easier. Just a note, these work wireless with the PS3 and PC, but using a cable on anything that won't take the dongle. The Microphone also works by using the cable, on my phone anyway, have yet to test anything else.

Yes, the microphone works on PC, Skype etc. but it's not going to replace my snowball for recording voice-overs for YouTube videos that's for sure. But with pretty much all wireless headsets the mics are a bit... on the lesser side.

I can wear these all day and feel like nothing is on my head, except when you notice that everyone is quiet and trust me, I have pretty big ears.
You won't be able to hear yourself much and may find yourself shouting every now and again, but not knowing. You get used to it after the first day or two.
