I bought this one year ago, and am reviewing it based on my experience. The PlayStation 4 Pro is a great console. It's easy to set up, and it works well with both HD TV's and UHD 4K TV's (both connect by way of a HDMI cable). The console has plenty of games available for it - in fact, far more than the equivalent Nintendo and Xbox consoles. The graphics look fantastic, and the sound quality is excellent. The Pro is much quieter than the previous PS4 model, and I found it to be an all-round improvement. Those games that are available in 4K look truly awesome. This console comes with a DualShock 4 controller, a HDMI cable, and a tiny headset. Other than games, everything is included.
While this machine is capable of playing 4K games, it will only play standard Blu-ray discs (not UHD 4K movies). This is a shame, as I think it was a missed opportunity by Sony. The Pro is fully ready to play Virtual Reality games - however, the VR kit is very expensive (and the price has, so far, put me off). I also think it's a bit cheeky that PlayStation Plus costs approx. £30 a year … I bought the console to play games, and I paid for the games - so if I wish to play online with friends, it shouldn't cost extra.
Other than the 'negatives' I've mentioned, this is a wonderful latest-generation gaming console. I've had many hours of fun using it. While it is rather pricy, this is a well-made console that still functions as-new after a year of use. I've had no problems with it at all - and I fully recommend it.
