I want a case that is good for going into town with, or going on the bus, but this is definately not the one. It is just to large and lumbersome to be discreet, and has nowhere to attach other than around your arm (too big for belt).
For general use, and to just carry your minidisk player I would look elsewhere for a belt-strap case that does the same job, but in a more sleek, subtle manner.
However, if you want it for sports use, and don't want it getting in the way I would recommend it, as it is sturdy, and you don't have to constantly think about not dropping it.
I bought the Sony MDWM Minidisc case recently, and have been really pleased with it. The wristband fits perfectly round your arm, and the Minidisc slots into the front pouch easily. The case is made out of good quality materials (arm band has towelling material to absorb moisture, rest of case and pouch is tough, hard-wearing material) and comes in dark grey.
Overall the Sony MDWM Minidisc case is quite expensive for what it is, but having said that though you do get a smart style case and quality for your money. I certainly haven't regretted purchasing it.
Keeps water off the minidisc nicely.
Access can be alittle cumbersome changing tracks or disc but if you just wanna press play and keep walkin its fine.
The side slip for the headphones to connect in is the only problem. It's slightly fiddly to plug in if the minidisc is already in.
It also has a nice pocket to hold another minidisc.
All the other cases I have tried do at least one of the above.
This one looks the business, is a snug fit for a modern Minidisc player (which is what you want if you are active) and has an armband that will stay in place without you feeling like you have a torniquet on your arm.
It gets 4/5 only because the velcro tab that secures the cover flap does not make it watertight so after a run in the rain I do find a few droplets have crept into the flap. If you want a more weatherproof one then get the Caselogic MD case which is neoprene with a zip all the way round. That one keeps everything dry but hangs off your arm like a handbag...so if image is important... buy the Sony one reviewed here.
I took some getting used to although I felt the benefits immediately. I work in IT and mover from computer to server to computer frequently. Often forgetting about my player on the desk and straining my ears! This case takes care of that, and I can take an extra mini disc about with me.
I haven’t used it for running yet because of the snow but im sure it will be fine. The only problem is a small amount of pressure on the arm and it is a little tricky getting the pressure so that the mini disc doesn’t slip down the arm or cut the circulation off!!, but feels much better than strapping to your belt!

Holds player securely. Very cheap to buy. Only complaint is the postage costs more than the product.Published on 9 Jan. 2010 by David R. Booth
it is a very useful case to have and protects your mini disc player nicely. there are only a few down falls: when you wear it on your arm it sticks out a lot and could be banged... Read morePublished on 6 Mar. 2006
I'd been looking for a suitable case for my MD for use while running, but all the belt-based options kept either falling off, or wobbling around so much I wished they'd fall off! Read morePublished on 6 Oct. 2005 by P. Miles
Okay, it looks sleek from the outside; but this "practical" piece of kit is rather dull. And, before you ask, it isn't flush either. Read morePublished on 11 July 2005 by Joe
