This case is definately aimed at sporty people. It is great for when you go running, having it around your arm. The fastenings have a good strong feel to them, and the product itself is well built. But the problem arises with just general usage.
I want a case that is good for going into town with, or going on the bus, but this is definately not the one. It is just to large and lumbersome to be discreet, and has nowhere to attach other than around your arm (too big for belt).
For general use, and to just carry your minidisk player I would look elsewhere for a belt-strap case that does the same job, but in a more sleek, subtle manner.
However, if you want it for sports use, and don't want it getting in the way I would recommend it, as it is sturdy, and you don't have to constantly think about not dropping it.

The standard carry-case supplied with all Sony Minidisc products is fine for general use but if you're the active type you'll quickly find it slipping off more often than its on! What's more it can be somewhat uncomfortable. However do not despair, Sony have an alternative solution. The Net MD Armband Case is ideal for running/training. Its made of a tough but soft material. The exterior is water resistant (for those runs in the rain) and the interior is well padded offering excellent all-round protection to the MD player. If you prefer to leave the MD remote control at home the MD's own controls can still be operated through the soft mesh-like material (exposed when the flap is opened) but this can literally be a bit hit and miss. All parts of the case that meet the arm are made of a soft towelling material which helps to absorb sweat and prevent irritation. The strap is easily attached with Velcro and should fit most people, maybe not muscle-bound body builders though! Once on the arm the case feels very stable and quite comfortable, however it is important not to over-tighten the strap or your arm might start turning blue. Under running conditions there is no noticeable movement of the MD within the case and audio is uninterrupted. Altogether an excellent product.

I have owned a Sony Minidisc for nearly two years, and although I have always been content with using my Minidisc in the home, I wasn't comfortable taking it outside with me. This was due to the fact that although my Minidisc is small and neat enough to fit into my coat pockets, I wanted something a bit more secure and snug to hold it in.
I bought the Sony MDWM Minidisc case recently, and have been really pleased with it. The wristband fits perfectly round your arm, and the Minidisc slots into the front pouch easily. The case is made out of good quality materials (arm band has towelling material to absorb moisture, rest of case and pouch is tough, hard-wearing material) and comes in dark grey.
Overall the Sony MDWM Minidisc case is quite expensive for what it is, but having said that though you do get a smart style case and quality for your money. I certainly haven't regretted purchasing it.

Excellent little carry case. Pretty unique with the side strip doubling as a reflective warning to cyclists with road rage.
Keeps water off the minidisc nicely.
Access can be alittle cumbersome changing tracks or disc but if you just wanna press play and keep walkin its fine.
The side slip for the headphones to connect in is the only problem. It's slightly fiddly to plug in if the minidisc is already in.
It also has a nice pocket to hold another minidisc.
recommended!

I have been buying various Minidisc cases over the last couple of years so that I can go running without worrying about whether my MD will get wet, shaken about, fall off me or just look daft.
All the other cases I have tried do at least one of the above.
This one looks the business, is a snug fit for a modern Minidisc player (which is what you want if you are active) and has an armband that will stay in place without you feeling like you have a torniquet on your arm.
It gets 4/5 only because the velcro tab that secures the cover flap does not make it watertight so after a run in the rain I do find a few droplets have crept into the flap. If you want a more weatherproof one then get the Caselogic MD case which is neoprene with a zip all the way round. That one keeps everything dry but hangs off your arm like a handbag...so if image is important... buy the Sony one reviewed here.

I purchased this case with my mini disc player with some reservations. The thought of the mini disc being attached to my arm sounded as if it would hinder me.
I took some getting used to although I felt the benefits immediately. I work in IT and mover from computer to server to computer frequently. Often forgetting about my player on the desk and straining my ears! This case takes care of that, and I can take an extra mini disc about with me.
I haven’t used it for running yet because of the snow but im sure it will be fine. The only problem is a small amount of pressure on the arm and it is a little tricky getting the pressure so that the mini disc doesn’t slip down the arm or cut the circulation off!!, but feels much better than strapping to your belt!
