Look good, (many colours to choose from)
Fantastic sound quality
180• turn for better storage
Cloth on head strap not durable according to other reviews , as they're likely to rip. However I look after mine and haven't had this problem.
Wire cable is like tagliatelle! Similar to those in the old fashioned printers, meaning if you bend it, it is likely to break and not work. (However they're anti tangle because of this, so if you look after them and don't pull or bend them you won't have the problem.
Overall I have rated this set of head phones a 5/5 due to the value for money and the ultimate... Sound quality. (I'd even go as far as to say they're just as good as beats, which are just a fashion accessory). The only difference between the zx610 and the zx600 is the 610 has a mic. Either way a fantastic pair!
Frankly, they were an extreme disappointment, lacking in mid range and treble clarity / sparkle and being far outperformed by my existing, cheaper, Sennheiser PX100s'.
There's not actually a huge amount of choice at this price, and having seem some good reviews for the ZX600's, I thought I'd give these ZX610's a shot.
Straight out the box the improvement over the AKG 451's is night and day, and actually much better than I expected. These are very good cans for the price. The bass is decent but well controlled, the mid-range clarity is there and there treble sparkles without being overly harsh. Well done Sony, in the value for money stakes, these rate highly.
The possible cons are:
- there's no case provided, so you're going to have to splash out perhaps another £10 or so
- they are a little larger than the AKG 451's, so not *quite* so portable (but it's marginal)
- they are could possibly get a little uncomfortable for extended use as they have quite a tight grip - but they might loosen up over time I guess.
They are noise isolating, and do a reasonable job of this.. Also, the sound leakage is quite well controlled.
Recommended ! (don't buy the AKG 451's!)
I will say, these headphones are pretty decent budget headphones, however they are not as good sound quality as the V55's or the Positive Vibrations. The bass and treble are ok but the mid's, they are quite low it's really annoying and I can't seem to find a good EQ setting which satisfies my ears. I've also noticed that the volume is much lower compared to my other headphones, even the stock apple brand. I have to turn the volume up higher to really surround myself in the sound. They leak at around 75%, in my experience, and do a very good job at isolating noise around me and I attribute that to the fact that they fit very comfortably around my ears sealing them in so noise isolation will vary depending on ear size.
In short, if you're looking for decent quality over the ear headphones with in-line remote then these are great for your budget, although I notice the price changes on these very frequently. However, if you're willing or are able, and don't mind the lack of remote, please do splash out on the V55's.
