My old man used to be a sound engineer and he thinks these are pretty amazing - but pretty huge. Definitely statement headphones! So if you want a pair of high fidelity speakers clamped to your head, these are the headphones for you.

Extremely well cushioned and comfortable, they sit lightly on the head, with no pressure on the ears.

Music reproduction is superb, a great dynamic range.

The noise cancelling works very well,he listened to Bach whilst using a small electric sander.

Bluetooth connection is seamless and has not dropped out. Turn on the headphones and the connection is immediate.

A note of caution, and this is not unique to these headphones. To get the optimum use of the headphones you are encouraged to download and use the Sony Headphone app to control and customise the sound.

However if one reads the Terms and Conditions of the app the user agrees to consent and collection of the users usage, location , there is a reference to Sony's policy on privacy in applications. Basically his gives Sony access to all information about how the headphones are used, and gives Sony freedom to provide information to interested third parties. Essentially you are signing up to allow Sony to track your listening history.

Whilst not a conspiracy theorist they do currently cost £two hundred pounds plus one should expect some privacy.

I'm in love.
Going to start with what I don't like.
- I wish the design was more like the MDR 1000X so it looks nice outside but the sound is so good i don't care
- I could watch movies and play games with the Bass effect on and sound as good as listing to music.
I tell you this if you like bass this is your headphones, some people say the bass effect is overpowering they it is a bit but now you can control it with the up on your phone. I used the app to set up the bass effect at 5 (50%) leave NC on volume at max on the headphones and 35 to 40% on the source. This is how I love and I believe most people will too if you into the bass. With this set up the headphone sound amazing the bass is on point strong but smooth like these expensive speakers with smooth bass ( you don't get BOM BOM BOM) no, you get Bommmmm Bommmmm.
I don't give it 5 because nothing is perfect and I wish it look as good on me as the MDR 1000X. Oh and the noise canceling works way better on the underground compared to MDR 1000x. Don't get me wrong the noise canceling from the MDR 1000X is much better but only indoors and when you not moving.

These are very nice sounding headphones but then again, for over two-hundred quid you would expect them to be! To begin with, they are very easy to pair up with a device and once paired, you only need to make sure the headphones are on and the device has bluetooth enabled and they will find each other.

The bass is excellent. Some headphones struggle with bass reproduction (especially in-ear headphones obviously) but these don't have a problem. There is a bass boost function but to be honest I can't tell the difference between when it's on and off. When you press the button there is an annoying pause in your music where a voice will state that the function has been turned on or off. It takes so long that an accurate comparison between the two sounds is impossible.

The headphones fit nicely. I must have a medium head as I expand the band a bit but there is loads more room for all the big-heads out there! The cups also fit comfortably over my ears and again, even if you look like the BFG, these should still fit you nicely.

I haven't yet been able to adequately assess the noise cancellation function. I have it off at the moment while I type and I can't hear the clacks from the keyboard. Again, if I turn it on, I can't hear the difference. They are closed back headphones so keep outside noise out quite nicely anyway.

The headphones do fold down but they aren't a great deal smaller when you do it. They also come with a pouch to keep them a bit safer. A USB micro cable and mini jack cable are also included.

If you're after a normal pair of headphones you might want to look somewhere else as these are expensive but if you're an audiophile then these might be just what you're looking for.
